Really? This guy is *hot*???

I don't know it that's it, I just wonder why they are so adamant in their disgust of male beauty. I remember hearing women say 'he's probably conceited" or "ugh, not for me' or "I wouldn't want to be with a man who's prettier than me"...

Just once I'd like to hear a MAN say that about a hot woman... and they fear rejection, too!

But 'male beauty' is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone's idea of handsome is different. It's as subjective as what kind of decor you prefer, or what style of clothing you like, or any other visual thing.

Honestly, there's just no 'male beauty' to be found in that photo for me. I think he's odd-looking. I'm not pretending to find him unattractive because I'm 'afraid of rejection'. I genuinely find him unattractive. His cheekbones are too prominent, unnaturally so. His eyes are just plain strange. He looks like a character in a science-fiction movie. :lmao:

Beautifully said and sums up exactly how I feel. I am more attracted to a ruggedly handsome man. I'm not knocking anyone for finding this guy attractive, have at it but just not my idea of an attractive male. The same reason I'm not attracted to Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt..just too girly looking for me:confused3

Thank you. :) It really is just personal taste. If you asked 500 women who they thought the sexiest man alive is, you'd get a list of 500 wildly different looking men.

As I get older, too, I find that personality gets more and more tied into who I find attractive. I mean, there's beauty that I can recognize and admire as I would a painting or a sculpture or a flower. But that's not the same as being attracted to someone.

Johnny Depp is a good example....he really doesn't do anything for me in general, but he melted me into a puddle in 'Chocolat' - I thought he was gorgeous in that, and I'm pretty sure it was largely the personality of the character I was reacting to.

There's so much that goes into attraction. Facial features, physical build, personality.

I was NOT referring to the guy in the picture. I was talking in general. NO ONE looks good to everyone, that goes without saying. I'm just wondering about the instant vitriol whenever the subject come up. :badpc:

A little background: I've ALWAYS loved classically beautiful men. Of all my friends and sisters I was the ONLY one. I used to say "more for me" but I never understood why? I remember sitting with a group of them one time and they all told me that girls give them HELL. I thought if they were women with the same looks the problem would probably be different. Or maybe not, because "pretty prejudice" exist on both genders.

The guy has pretty, although cold looking, eyes. Not a big fan of multiple tattoos. Good bone structure. If he wasn't a thug he could probably do well as a male model... He has that "look".

The only thing I do not like are the neck tattoos. I love tattoos on men...but neck ones shout skeevy to me (on women, too..).

My typical crush - Paul Walker, Darren Criss.

LOTS of reasons that women would have a negative reaction to a guy that others are saying are HOT. In fact, I wrote a fairly long post, and then, lost it when our power went out momentarily. So, consider yourselves lucky!!! :rotfl2:

Anyhow, I think a lot of women have serious issues with any judgment based on great-looks and being 'HOT'. It is like a defensive thing! Big issues there.

And, this applies to situations where women are very 'catty' as well.

The thing is....
We can't say that this guys genetic physical appearance is hot or good looking.

But look at the recent thread, where anyone who dared to say that Melissa McCarthy is not 'beautiful', etc... would be completely flamed and feathered and burned at stake.
Everyone had to appreciate everything about her. Period.

With the photo of this guy... Even the drop-dead 'hot' one. It is like, "but his eyes aren't right... he has a tattoo... yada.... yada... yada...."

Double Standard anyone????

Women are complex creatures!!!!

You'd be surprised how many criminals out there are good looking.

Me, I wouldn't give a guy with gangster tats on his face a second look, regardless of how nice the rest of the package was.

I bet he's going to be he's going to be real popular in prison. Maybe one the ladies out there swooning over him will be nice enough to send him a cushion to sit on during his prison stays.

Can I just say, I hate when people say stuff like this. Rape isn't funny, whether it's in prison or not. I know I sound like a killjoy, but people make such light of prison rape, and I think it's awful.
