We are bringing my sister and her family in Aug to WDW for their first time. My BIL is a big 6' 5'' guy and my sister is worried he will not fit in things. He has a lot of trouble with overhead harnesses at most amusement parks apparently. Anyone know how he will make out? I thought of space mountain and I think he might need the seat to himself at Winnie the Pooh. What about RNR ? We haven't done that one yet.

TIA

Hello,

I am slightly over 6'6", and 265 lbs. Having been on every ride in WDW serveral times, I will say that Space Mountain is the hardest for me. I can do it but I do tend to avoid it most trips. Rock and Roll roller coaster, and I would say all of the other rides, are NO Problem!! I think the front seat on space mountain has the most room if I remember correctly, but I rode in the rear seat last trip, and it pretty tight.

P.S. Now that I think about it, I have never been on the Tea Cups, but that has nothing to do with my size.

We have some friends and the wife is 6'2 and the husband is 6'7 and their 5 year old is as tall as my 9 year old, anyway, they are tall. They went to WDW last year and he said the only ride his legs felt cramped in was Space Mountain.

I'm 6', DH is 6'5", and my brother is 6'8". . .on Space Mountain, be sure he rides in the front. Might be a bit snug, but he'll fit! That's the only one I can really think of that was tough on the knees.

(As for the teacups, just don't have more than one or two tall adults ride together. . .there are way too many legs and knees in the way!)

DH is 6'4" and he bangs his knee getting off of the tea cups every time. Of course, if he didn't make it spin so fast, he might be a little more aware as to where the middle pole is! :rotfl:

DH is 6-11 and 300 pounds. He has never had a problem riding anything at WDW. Enjoy!:)

Hey, there!!! My hubby is also 6'5"....I really can't answer about the thrill rides like SM and RnRC because my hubby doesn't ride them, but he has no problem with other rides. He fits in Pooh just fine. And rides like Peter Pan and Haunted Mansion actually have quite a bit of legroom.

Hope this helps!

In 30+ trips to WDW and several to US/IoA, I have seen only one instance of someone being too tall for an attraction. That was at Forbidden Journey over at IoA. The gentleman was really tall....my dh is 6'4'' and this guy was a lot taller than dh. So probably close to 6'6'' or 7''. He wasn't allowed to ride since the overhead harness thingie didn't sit right.
Other than that, I haven't seen any instances of someone being too tall. I do know that my dh sometimes 'feels' too tall....especially on Space Mt!! And even more so after he saw it with the lights on!!!!

My family is tall also. My brother, the tallest at 6'9" has been able to ride everything. Like others have said Space Mountain is a bit of a tight fit but not impossible.

Me and my husband are pretty tall too. We are ok on anything, just make sure you get the one of the front cars on Space Mt and RnRC. Otherwise you are sitting with knees in your chin!:rotfl: Never a fun way to ride, unfortunately, I learned the hard way! :headache:

He will be fine.

DH is 6'3 and 270# and rides everything. On Space Mt. he asks for the seat with more "room" and the CM tells him where to sit. RNRC is no problem.(will say the front of the car has the most leg room.

Some tips for you to tell him is if he is a bit uncomfortable, cross his legs at the ankles if he can. That helps his comfort level.
Also watch the ride while approaching getting on, you can usually see which seat has more leg room. At that point just "remind" the CM seating people can he have the seat with more room. Usually the CMs pay attention and assign accordingly, but we always make sure to know ourselves.

Tell sis no worries, he will be FINE!! ;)

I never thought that my fiance (6'2'') will have a problem at WDW for rides but then again I (4'11") don't come close to having a problem. OP thanks for asking this now I know where to have him sit.

No one mentioned Splash Mt. There's very little knee room, quite uncomfortable for a tall person, and I thought I would never be able to get out of the boat.

Splash and Space are the two worst, for me anyway.
