We are planning our trip for December during my youngest's 3rd birthday. I know as long as your checkin is before the birthday, he counts as a 2 yr old. His birthday is at the end of our visit. My worry is that he is a really tall/big 2 yr old right now and who knows if he is going to have another growth spurt before then. He doesn't really talk much but is already 38 inches tall. Will this be a problem?

My son is tall too, 37 inches and he just turned two less than two weeks ago. He talks we'll and no one ever believes that he is as young as I say he is. I don't know that you will be having trouble, but as long as you are telling the truth about his age I wouldn't worry about it.

You will be fine. If you are asked (which more than likely you won't be) simply tell the cast member your child is 2 years old. They won't ask for a birth certificate or anything. ;)

Won't be a problem at all. I've never seen them ask for "proof" of age on a child. I've seen people try to pass their 4 and 5 year olds off as 2, so they don't have to pay for them, with success I might add.

I agree they dont ask. My son had just turned two one trip and with shoes on he was over the 38 mark and spoke very clearly! Thr speaking is what worried me it was so clear he did not seem 2!

But no one asked.

As a PP said you will be fine. The first time my son went to Disney World he was almost two and 36 inches tall. No one asked us how old he was. The only instance was at CRT, we told Ariel she was his favorite and she asked him how he was and what his favorite book was. He just stood there, then Ariel asked, "Sweetie how old are you?". We answered one and she got down to his level and spoke to him properly for his age. Now he is four and 45in. tall and everyone always thinks he is 6-7 until he speaks. But no problems at Disney.

Oh good. I was worried because lately when we go out I have gotten people telling me they thought he was about 4. As of right now it is obvious once he speaks that he is not.

Few years ago, I witnessed a patron with an unusually large child in a stroller attempting entry , the CM asked ate age and the patron murmered an answer. The child was permitted free entry. The CM commented to fellow CM referencing child, " better than last one which was probably close to 8." I'm sure CM's have seen it all.
As a mother my impression, the child did appear school age.

My son was large for his age, and I even considered bringing his birth certificate when he was your son's age. We had no problem.

My oldest son was the opposite, small for his age and could have gotten by with free admission for awhile, I chose not to and was even told once or twice he was "good" and I gave his age and submitted his ticket.
I am sure there are people pushing the age/free admission. What example are they setting for ther children? Also those that have legitimate size dilemma.

I have big kids to. For my oldest daughter and my youngest son I did bring their birth certificates for proof when they traveled at 2. I never needed it, but am a worry wart and decided it was easier to have it and not need it then have an issue, plus I hate having people think I am scamming them. My youngest is now 50.5 inches at just 6.
I know they don't believe me at the Chinese buffet we go to, they even asked him his age the last time we went, funny thing is I don't even know the age the price goes up, but I do know they have been asking since he was 3 and it hasn't gone up yet.

Opposite issue… my niece is Asian and she is tiny. When she was 6 my sister put her in an umbrella stroller and wheeled her in as a two year old. Nobody turned a hair, at least not in earshot. I bet plenty of CMs knew differently, but in 10 days they only asked her age once, and my sister lied and said she would be 3 next month. NOT CONDONING THIS ACTION… just meant to illustrate that CMs won't push for ID when a parent gives a kid's age.

My daughter was 36 inches at 2, 39 inches at 2.5. We took her to disney at about 2.5. We were asked her age once at the entry to MK. I said she's 2 and we all moved on. I didn't feel like anyone looked at is oddly, but I knew I wasn't breaking the rules so I didn't care.

She turns 3 next week and I'm pretty sure she's over 40" now but that's what we get with our 100th percentile kid. She looks closer to 4 or 5 and speaks very clearly and in full sentences and has for a long time.

Don't worry. The best thing you can do is know you are not cheating. I will happily pay the proper amount when my daughter is 3 (though she will be 4 when we go next) but I just will not lie about it nor will I tell her to lie about it.

They won't make an issue out of it.
The only time anyone even alluded to the age of my 2 year old last year was when he "helped" me scan my ticket. The CM said, "now we need to do yours." I just smiled and said, "that was my ticket. he's only 2" (or something like that). No big deal.

The Disboards, where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.

My DD is 2 1/2 (almost exactly) and we are APs and go at least once a week- usually twice. She just reacehed 35" tall (always been in the 50% percentile so pretty much average in size) and when she went to ride Barnstormer they had to get out nearly every measuring stick in town to make sure she was tall enough to ride and then we got stopped again as we went to sit down on the ride and they had to measure her again. But then about a week or so later, we were asked at the entrance how old she is (the first time EVER and we have gone to the park TONS of times) but I think that day we were asked because she was dressed in an elaborate costume including a hoop skirt, and perhaps the CM thought a 2 year old wouldn't be in such a dress. :confused3 Anyways, I have no issue getting her an AP for her birthday, but until then, I don't anticipate being asked about her age too often.
