We are flying Southwest out of Providence at 6:30 a.m. on 10-18-11, what time should we arrive at the airport? I will do on-line check in the morning before, and I only live 15 minutes from the airport..

Its been a few years since we flew (we've driven 2x) and normally I arrive waaaaaay toooo early and the kids and I are bored silly waiting for the plane

Thanks

It is generally suggested that you arrive two hours prior to departure.

It's better to be bored silly than have an unexpected delay and miss your flight.

I fly SW out of Providence a few times a year and really, it is entirely random as to whether you get your luggage checked and through security in 10 minutes, or if you encounter a 40 minute delay, even using the bag check outside. We've had "pre-dawn" delays that would boggle your mind. Other times, we walk into a nearly empty airport.

So I would allow at least 90 minutes to 2 hours, just in case. It's kind of nice sitting and watching the sun come up over Warwick (probably the best view of Warwick you'll ever see???? ;) ) and at least you won't have to worry about cutting it too close.

At Htfd (stipulating you are going from Providence) the ticket counter isn't even open until 5:00am, so not earlier than whenever your ticket counter opens...but generally, I agree 90 minutes at least.
