I'm sorry I know this is going to be really off topic but I need some help from my friends,, I'm trying to search for a free website for legal help,, and I'm coming up blank.. Does anyone know of a good one Or the answer to this question?? when making up a list for restitution,,Is it replacement value you ask for or value of the property at the time it was damaged..( example 5 year old tv, Do I ask for $200 replacment value,,or $100 because of it's age..??
Once again I'm sorry for being so off topic.. and Thank you in advance ..Laurie

Hmmm, I'm afraid I'm not going to be of much help on this one.

All I know is that as far as insurance goes (which is different from what you're asking) is that on our last home we carried actual value. On this home we carry replacement value.

I'm not sure which is right for restitution due to damages.

Laurie:
You should be able to check with whomever you are providing the information (DA's office, U. S. Attorney or whomever) to get the specific terms to determine restitution. Hopefully a quick phone call on Monday will answer your question and you won't have to keep searching online!
