really not trying to cheat the system but...

When you make a resort reservation or book a package, Disney asks you what will the ages of your children be when you check in. Your child will be 3.

I have had a person at the gate ask my child how old she was...and she did tell him "2".

To stay within the rules, you can either change your arrival day (i.e. the day your parkhopper tickets start if you are not staying on site) so your child was 2 on arrival day. Or purchase a ticket. Pretty black and white.

That's like saying it's OK to shoplift a shirt from your favorite store since you are buying so many other things and they are making money off you, and you will probably buy more things next year and might not be able to get away with shoplifting that time, so you should do it this time. :confused3 I'm sure your favorite store would disagree as would Disney.

Disney is in business to make money, not provide free entertainment to people who think they are entitled to something for nothing. Going to WDW is not a necessity - if you can't pay the price, don't go.

As far as the CM making $6 an hour, at least you should give them credit for trying to do the right thing and follow the rules. They are trying to make an HONEST living, and I'm sure they have a very hard job with the entitlement mentality of people who think rules are not for them. Making more money obviously does not give someone more class.

I have to agree with everthing said here.

IMHO people bring to much drama to some of these post. She asked a yes or no question, and alot of people starting with the "well technically you are trying to beat the system" and such. These boards should be friendly in my opinion. Making people not even want to check there OWN threads is a little crazy. Sorry if I am out of line but really...

By the way to the OP I am sure that more then 50% of people have said there child was younger to get them in free to a buffet/movie or whatever at least one time or another so do what you feel comfortable with.:)

VERY well said:thumbsup2 I honestly always wonder, when people make posts like this one, why they are surprised that people would feel strongly about it:confused3 Not a doubt in the world, I would pay and not have to spend my trip wondering if anyone was going to ask a question that would point out that I was trying to get something for nothing:thumbsup2

You think that 50% of people lie to save money? Pretty dim view of humankind.

OTOH, the op is talking about lying, cheating and stealing. Maybe I ought to lower my view of humankind.

Like I said, that was to the OP. But thanks for your comments. I am here for disney information, Not to put people down and make them feel dumb for asking a question. But I respect everyones opinions:)

:confused3 Saying that the people posting objections are lying is building people up in what manner? Seems a tad bit less than respectful to me. It is difficult not to be a hypocrite, sometimes, isn't it?

And we are here to provide it. Disney's policy is that children 3 and over must have a ticket and must pay the child's price for buffets and family style meals. Just in case you ever need to know since you have a 1 year old. :thumbsup2

I am sorry if you took my comment the wrong way, I was NOT saying the people that were posting to her lied. I was stating that 50% of people in general. Im not here to start drama. But I do feel bad for the OP.

Exactly- this is Disney's policy. We are here to provide information, and are not going to advocate ways to circumvent Disney's rules or policies.

Since this thread is deteriorating, it is now closed.
