I swear, if DH looks at me with that face again, I'm going to thump him. :rotfl: It is 70 degrees outside and I had to fight to get the AC on today. And don't even get me started on the whining about the ceiling fan. I am burning up in this house (in a t-shirt and shorts) while DH and the kiddos are walking around in hoodies. They're comfortable. I'm sweating. Yes, I realize I'm the odd one here. This must be some sort of "approaching middle age, hormone thing". Where is that fainting smiley when you need it? I'm really glad cooler temps are in the forecast for tomorrow.

Are you kidding me? It was 70 degrees and you turned your A/C on? Even in the middle of the summer ours is not on until it is at least 80.

DH just said he's pretty sure it's my hormones. I may have to plot against him tonight. Usually, during the summer months, I keep the thermostat set around 75. Today, though, I'm just really hot.

Oh, and the temp in the house did get up to 74 before I turned it on.

Oh! I feel for you! In the winter if the heat is set on any more than 66....I'm walking around in a t-shirt. Anymore than about 76, the a/c goes on!!!!

I have a battle with my cold blooded DH, he likes the heat and I like the a/c.....we really have a very short "open the window" season!

As the owner of my own personal internal heating system, I am 100% on your side! :rotfl2:

Me too. DH will be wearing sweats sitting under a blanket and I am about to break into a sweat. We live in a building so we can't control out own heat.

I have been running the a/c for two days. My husband is used to it, he just covers up in his chair. :upsidedow

He turned the thermostat down so I'll keep him for now. Now that I've cooled down, I can finally go to sleep.

Stay off the cruise line forum. There are folks there that think 75 is cold.

I'll second that. Once your hormones start going kaflooey, you can be cold one minute, then feel like your in an oven the next.m
Our central unit stays at 68 or 69 all year long.

I sat outside tonight. Then I turned on the overheads. Now, I'm up cause I'm too hot.

Our AC went on for a little while today too after I broke out in a sweat trying to get dressed. Nothing worse than putting on make up while sweating.

Our heat is set at 72 and it is still cold in here. When we lived in WA it was at 68 and seemed fine.
We don't have the AC on until it gets about 80.........hope there is some time for opening windows in the middle of those, but it is usually a short time span.
We have having unusually cold weather for the last week or so, so I can cold!!

I have the air on here too and the fan is 6 inches from me.... I woke up hot flashing even with all my cooling tactics. Surgical menopause sucks!

I have never liked to have it warm while I sleep- 60-62 is ideal for me for sleeping-66 is fine for awake hours but has to be cooler than that for sleeping- especially since I hit peri-menopause when I was about 38. Even though no more hot flashes now still warm most of the time!

My AC is on today. I am not hormonal at all, but it got to 75 in my house and here in NC, it can feel warmer than that when it is humid. Yes, it was humid yesterday outside and will be again today. I washed my car and was sweating pretty good. I set it at 73 so it has only kicked on a few times, but enough to keep me from being uncomfortable. I do 71 in winter, 73 in summer, but that's just me. 80 with our high humidity would be like hell.

I'm always freezing! My dad turned our air on yesterday before he left. Only problem is it was only 50 degrees yesterday! He didn't tell anybody and I kept thinking "man, it's cold in here." I thought it was just me though. Finally thought it can't just be me, its much colder than normal in here. Went and checked the thermostat and it was 60 in the house. I hate the cold, so I don't like our air on until it hits a pretty high temperature.

Exactly. We lived in coastal NC for a few years while DH was active duty. I actually thought it was slightly more comfortable there than our Louisiana weather. Right now, our humidity is over 70%. Lots and lots of rain this past week (and some more today, whoopee!), so that is definitely a factor. At least the temps are dropping. I may have to move north for my golden years. I can't take this weather.

We have the thermostat set at 70 for the winter, but sometimes it does get cold in here. We have laminate floors above a cement-floor basement so sometimes I think that contributes to being cold. DH isn't cold because he wears his winter coat and knit cap inside the house when he comes home from work.:lmao: I love it cold in the summer; we argue about how cold to keep it.
I just dress in layers in the house so I can rip them off or add them back as needed. But honestly sometimes I feel like Pedro in Napoleon Dynamite. I just want to shave my hair off because I get headsweats....:rotfl:
The worst place has got to be work though. It starts out a nice 68 or 69 degrees (I'm the first one in usually...) but after lunch it has been up to 79.6!
 I wear shortsleeves all year round to work...no matter how cold it is outside.
