Really!? No more Main Street Bakery?!

Moving to DL board.

Why? This post is ABOUT WDW. She started another post just like it on Theme Parks, and it's been replied to many times. This was just a duplicate.

We have to bring up DCA to respond, so as to calm down the WDW peeps, because it's been such a NOT big deal.

Move it back or just close it, since it's not about DLR and she already has a dupe post that's been responded to over on Theme Parks.

1. They aren't taking away any disney bakeries - in any parks - in order to put in a Starbuck's.

2. They are adding Starbuck's drinks onto the menus at several disney locations. The article said FF&PC is the first of 6 locations intended.

3. The first Starbuck's was in 2009 in DL Paris. -(Outside the actual parks in the "Disney Village". Their answer to DTD.)

4. The next Starbuck's was opened this year at the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe in DCA park in CA on the new Buena Vista Street. (As has been mentioned, it's not Starbuck's themed but rather Starbuck's drinks served in a disney cafe/bakery.)

5. Someone jumped to the conclusion that they are taking out the Main St. Bakery (not sure if they meant at DL or WDW) but that has NEVER been said.


There is an article in USA Today from several months back that talks about Starbuck's contracting with disney to put it's coffee in several stores in the disney parks - both in WDW and DL and overseas.

I'm going to make a guess from reading the article that the "6 locations" they mention may mean one for each US park, the two in CA and all four parks in WDW. Then overseas if it goes well.

They took out TWO places in DCA to put in FFP. It wasn't an existing bakery, there was a goodie place (aka bakery) and an ice cream place, and those physical spaces are gone.


Regardless, this was an inappropriate thread move. It was about WDW.

I could be wrong, but I thought FFP was always the plan for the current space. And Clarabelles Ice Cream is still there, maybe smaller than in tended but still there.
