Hi, im new here. Love these boards.

There is a chance i 'might' be going to Disneyland Paris in December. I havent had a holiday for years and years and that was Florida (totally amazing). We cant afford that but are hoping for DLP. It looks fantastic and so magical!!

Im desperate to go but i really really need to get that 'might' turned into a yes! LOL. My dad wont go but my mam will and maybes even my grandma too. They keep saying they need to know rough prices first though before deciding to see if we can afford it.

So im really wanting as much info/advice as i can get, i need to hype it up, LOL. I wanna get some pictures of it at Christmas.
But what i dont have a clue about anything to do with pricing and booking.

From experience, which is the best company to book with to get discounts and stuff?
Is booking online better than face to face? We are hoping to go for 4 days. And do you have to have park tickets included.
Does anyone have any rough prices for how much it would cost for 3 people for 4 days travelling by plane? (is the airport far from the parks?)

Also which hotel is best for like a mid type budget?? I was looking at the Sequoia Lodge which looks really nice, is that pricey though?

And does anyone have any experience of what DLP is like at Christmas? It sounds really magical and perfect.
Im really sorry for the billion questions, lol. Im just all excited and need to find out pretty much everything but i dont have a clue and i want to get a sure yes answer that im going, lol.

Hi Ashleigh and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

Hopefully you will get lots of help to sell DLP :goodvibes

Christmas season is magical at DLP. Have a look at the trip index for some others past trips.
One tip if you are looking for a cheaper trip then go in mid November or early January. You may not get all the Christmas activities, but you'll get the main ones. As well as quieter crowds :)

Awww thanks. Oooh good idea about mid November, i think if we did go in December it would be right at the start so its not getting too near Christmas.

Im just trying to find companys at the moment to book through, theres so many, lol. But a lot of them dont have December dates on yet unless thats just me being dumb.lol

Welcome to the DIS Ashleigh

Are you able to take advantage of flights with any of the budget airlines? Sometimes finding a reasonable airfare. and then booking the room and package direct with DLP can be cheaper than booking the whole package with a tour operator. Just add 32 euros per person to any flight only price you find, to cover the cost of the VEA shuttle - as this would probably be included in the price with the tour operator.

The airport is about a 40 minute journey to DLP and the VEA shuttle is one way of getting there. Have a look at the "Travelling to DLP by plane" thread in the Very Useful Information sticky at the top of the page

Whoever you book with, the price will include your park passes and breakfast :thumbsup2

If you do book direct with Disney, then please know that booking online requires payment in full immediately. But when booking over the phone you pay a 10% deposit and the balance 60 days before you trip.

On checking the brochure I've noticed that the first week in December is pricier than the following two, or in most of November. Also bear in mind that starting your visit on a Friday or Saturday will always make it more expensive than starting it on a Sunday - Thursday!

Sequoia Lodge is a great choice - particularly in the winter. Arriving on a Sunday - Thursday (except for the 2nd - 6th December) and taking advantage of the 3 nights for the price of 2 offer, 2 people sharing a room would cost £354, + £91 for an additional adult. Arriving on a Friday or Saturday (except 7th or 8th) would cost £414 +£91. These prices are for the room, breakfast and park passes for 4 days. A Montana room in the main building would cost you an just extra £8 per night, per room.

Phew!! I hope that is of some help to you!!:goodvibes

Thanks Bexx for the great reply. Thats really helpful.

Me and my mam were having a look online earlier for prices but most sites i've been on so far dont have up to Dec yet for Sequoia Lodge but i think like you said, the 2nd week or after will be better. My mam said 4 days but she actually meant 4 nights, so 5 days! wooo

I think tomorrow i will try and look around for flights on their own like you suggested.

depends where you want to fly from we're going from birmingham and there are good priced flights thru air france and bmibaby, we're paying for 2 adults and 2 kids £344 for 3 nights in october, we booked both our flights and hotel thru expedia they were even £30 cheaper than doing separate i.e flights from air france and hotel direct thru disney, plus there balance of the hol is only due 6 weeks before going

Hi Ashleigh, welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

Here's some pixiedust: to help with your holiday planning.

the 2nd week or after will be better. My mam said 4 days but she actually meant 4 nights, so 5 days! wooo

So taking advantage of the 4 nights for the price of 3 offer, if you arrived on a Sunday to a Thursday between the 9th to 20th December it would cost £462 in total for 2 people sharing a room + £106 for an additional adult. Arriving on a Friday or Saturday would make it £548 + £106. :)

ok change of plans again, LOL. my mam not me,lol.

We are going for 3 nights, 4 days. We got a quote from Thomas Cook which was something like £1,400 which is too much and i know we can get cheaper.

Just rang Expedia and got much cheaper quotes but they said Sequoia Lodge is fully booked in December?? I didnt think it was.
He said Dreamcastle is available and Explorers both for £600 and something. So im gonna read up about them now.

I just checked the booking page on the official website and staying from Sunday 9th for 3 nights (for example) is still available at £354 for two people. I only checked that one date, but I'm sure you will get what you want if you ring soon.

BTW, I've just noticed your location. Easyjet do flights from Newcastle to Paris CDG - and they haven't started selling them for December yet!! So sign up for the emails and check the site every day, and you should get a great price on your flights :thumbsup2

Hi...I think you have got good replies there so I just wanted to say HI and don't be a stranger!!!:thumbsup2

Hi there

We have been to DLP every year for the past 3 years. We always go mid november because the christmas theme is up and running and the parks are nice and quiet.

We are going on the 26.11.07 and staying at the sequoia lodge for the first time. We normally stay at the cheyenne which is a really good cowboy themed hotel. We just fancied a change of hotel this year.

We have looked at prices online compared to the travel agents and have always ended up booking through thomson but the holiday itself is booked through the thomas cook signature brochure.

We love DLP and im sure you and you family will love it too

Hope this helps and good luck booking your holiday

Lisa

Thanks crazygunuk.

Well i have some more news today, lol. We can have the Sequoia Lodge on the dates we wanted and then book the flights seperate with easyjet as its going to work out a lot cheaper.
Easyjet dont have the december dates released yet but the woman at the travel agents said they should be due any day becuase last year they were out in june. As soon as they are released she will ring us and it will all get booked up.
Im soooooooooo excited!!

Might be worth registering on the Easyjet site as you get an email when they open up sales on flights :(

I can't remember if my email notification actually arrived!! But I checked the site daily from the beginning of June and then booked as soon as the Liverpool - Paris flights came available on 15th June! I got them for £45!!! :cheer2: If I booked them today they would cost me £85 - still not bad, but I like my price even better! :teeth:

Glad to hear your holiday plans are coming together Ashleigh :thumbsup2

Wow thats cool Bexx. Great saving. I just registered on Easyjet to recieve updates but like you said, i'll still check daily just incase.

I think my Stitch money box can hopefuly soon become my DLP fund box, LMAO.
