REALLY need budget advice, want to go back! Package? Value resort?

We just returned from our first trip to the world(me, dh, ds9, dd5), and I am trying to convince my dh to go again because we had a WONDERFUL time!! I was thinking that the meal plan might be one way to save $, but you have to buy a package to get it. Our first trip, I did everything separately and was able to use a code to get a price break on the room. I called for prices, and am wondering if this number is set in stone, or are you able to get a package for less if you wait.
I am also thinking of trying a value resort. We stayed at POFQ the first time, and LOVED it, but I can't wait for a code(that may not even happen) to convince my dh. Any suggestions here?? I REALLY want to go back this year, possibly Nov.

Did you have a package last visit? I just found out that as long as your ticket was not a expiring ticket (length of stay) you can apply that ticket to upgrade to a AP. Might be something you want to check out. As for as Value..my favorite is Pop Century...we loved the themes. It really is a cool place.

We did not have a package, we had PHP and all that is left on them is the plusses. I am wondering if packages get discounted codes like room only's do sometimes.
Pop is actually the resort we are considering, I really did like the peacefulness of POFQ, but am trying to think lowest costs.

To upgrade to the AP, it doesnt matter if you used all the days and pluses. It can still be upgraded and your cost of the PHP goes toward the AP. Then you can (hope to get) AP codes and you get all the benefits of AP. I also understand the AP will become effective the day you upgrade so it is not retroactive to when you got your PHP. At one time packages were discountedwith certain codes (we did ours through AAA), but Im not sure if they still do since they revamped their tickets.

How old are your children? Mine were 8 and 14 at the time we were at Pop Century. We all really enjoyed it alot. It is so coloful. The food court was fun also.
