Man it makes me hope so badly that DCL makes this one of their destinations and that I am in a position to take advantage of it! I sure hope the cruisefare isn't outrageous! I always thought I wanted to do Princess and extend at one of their lodges. But I have always said that if DCL goes.....I'm there! Can you see Mickey in a parka?

i'm always undecided when i hear about cruises to places like Asia - i much prefer ground touring (on my own, not in an organized group)....

on the other hand, like another poster said, hong kong is much closer and easier for me to get to than orlando, so i could just view it as a cruise to wherever, the destination being less important than the cruise itself....

but i'm betting , like the med cruises, these will be much longer cruises....something that is very difficult for us.... unless they've improved the communication from ship to shore, which perhaps they have...

Alaska
Hong Kong

Another travel agent that is very up on DCL information is also stating he has received word that the Magic will be in the Caribbean during the summer of 2009

It will be interesting to see how this pans out

the thing is, staying in a hotel is so much a part of the experience of visiting a country - especially if you stay in a hotel frequented by locals....there is so much more interaction with the local culture that way....
you miss out on that when you're on a cruise....
