I honestly don't care why you do it, but when your going to moan about how Obama is treated, and then turn around and do the same thing to the guy that previously held the office, you should expect to get called on it.

I agree. While I am sure that there are racists out there who dislike Pres. Obama ONLY because of his skin color, I believe that most of the disagreement comes from policy and philosophy differences.

correct there are many of us who don't like him because of his policy and philosphy. Sure, there are people out there who dislike Obama and didn't vote for him because he is black which i think is racist. HOWEVER, there are also people out there who like him and only voted for him because he is black which i also think is racist. goes both ways.

FTR, i am not a racist b/c i don't like obama and his policies. I don't like Hillary or her husband either. I don't like him because his policies and what he is doing scare the crappola out of me.

Ok and I understand, during the campaign every time I saw someone call McCain "McSame" I completely discounted whatever they had to say. But that still has nothing to do with peoples right to say or think what they want.

ETA: Freedom of speech means supporting someones right to say what you never in your life agree with.

I said I gave President Bush 8 years of chances.
I would have given another 4 years of chances if he had been relected but so far our President's can only be in office for 8 years.

I agreed with some of President Bushes policies and I disagreed with others but I always willing to give him more chances.

You're absolutely correct. Everyone has the right to say or think what they want. But why should people who don't want to hear it be forced to (read) hear it? As I said before, yes we have the choice to not open threads to read the contents but when it's forced upon us in the title than we have no choice, right.

I truly think that's the problem most people have with all the political threads. They cannot be avoided when there is some argumentative (or demeaning or baiting or nonsense or inflammatory, etc) title being posted time after time.

I hope you're not talking to me. Trust me, it takes a lot to rile me up and Lord knows I've seen enough around here to rile anyone.

It really doesn't bother me per se. I just get what a lot of people say when they ask for a separate section for political threads. I love a good healthy conversation as the next person and that's all it is, just a conversation.

You have a right to not open the community board, or even the DIS. As long as the owners of this forum allow such threads, then the people have a right to post such threads. If you don't like it that much, then it becomes your right to avoid it.

Doesn't matter, some will take offense regardless of your intent. Others have explained that calling Obama BO was not meant to be offensive, it was simply the way they choose to call him. But those that are offended by it don't care what their rational is. Your intent, doesn't translate to someone else's interpretation of what you said.

I personally am not offended, by your use of Jr, by the use of BO, Barry, W. etc. When it gets to the level of McSame, or Mesiah, then it get's pretty offensive. But that is my level of tolerence, not someone elses.
