I know this is going to sound really weird, but I've been totally obsessing over it so I thought I should just ask! We have 3 girls ages 5, 8, and 10 at the time of our trip. Are all/most of the rides built for 2 people? Is one person in our party going to have to always be riding alone? In the grand scheme of things I know that this is a crazy thing to be worried about, but I can really see it becoming a problem! Will we be okay, or should we take a cousin along to even out our numbers? :confused3

It probably won't matter. Other than coasters most of the rides have some flexibility on how many can fit. Expecially if the kids are small the can fit three in some 2 person seats. Also some cars are two tierd so they can kind of ride three together that being 1 in the front seat and 2 in the back seat.

I would also say that it matters on less than half. Maybe way less if I think about it. A lot of rides are bench rides that fit 3 - 5 people depending on size. Some other rides really sit 2 adults comfortably, and a lot of families do 1 adult and 2 kids comfortably, as long as they are not large folks.

There will be a few rides you will notice it on, but really, not that many. I'm trying to think of rides that are really only 2, umm.. Space Mtn, Buzz Lightyear, Screamin, Toy Story Mania. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there is a couple more, but you get the idea. Have Fun and don't worry about that!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. We are a family of 3 and this has always been our situation. Usually my husband has to ride by himself. (This is usually the best option, as on some rides like Screamin' the empty seat will usually be filled with a single rider - you and your girls may not be comfortable with a "stranger" next to them).

With adults it can get a little different, but with kids, they can fit 3 to a car often times. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I have this same problem. My girls are 5 7 and 9. Been wondering what to do on the rides that we will have an extra too. Was thinking our 9 year old would not mind riding w/ a stranger(very independent) but have still been worried like you. Will be interested to see the answers.

Thanks everyone!! It sounds like we will be fine. I would just take the cousin but that's more $$ and it's a boy. We have a lot of princess things planned, and while I think he would be a good sport about it, I still think it would change the way we do things a bit. I will stop worrying about it!! :)

Toy Story Mania can actually fit more than just 2. My DH and I rode with our 2 year old and we are not small people. A friend of ours (she is small), rode with her 8 year old, my 5 year old and her 2 year old, all in the same car.

This is NOT the case for Screamin'. Only 2.

The problem with putting three people in a car at TSMM (and also Buzz) is that only two people can shoot. Since the OPs youngest is 5 I'm guessing she might be pretty mad if she didn't get to play.

I have 3 kids so there are 5 of us when we go. We take turns sitting with one another. Usually no one wants to go with me. My kids don't think I scream loud enough on the rides. :lmao:

It's not a big deal. Sometimes the kids want to sit alone. I wouldn't worry about it.

Just to clarify, the last line is not mine although it appears so in this post. I know you can't have 3 children in a row on Screamin':scared1::scared1::scared1: These were Mister Toad's words:). I assumed he was referring to fantasyland type rides , Toys Story or BTMRR, not Screamin' :)

Aahhhh- that makes sense. As much as it would kill me to not shoot the gun, I think I could probably sacrifice and let my dd have it!

My 2 adult children & I just came back from DL. We took turns with who rode with who and it all worked out.
I understand it is different with littlies, but I am sure you will work something out & you will all have an awesome time!!!:thumbsup2

We are the same way. The only ride it became a real problem with was Space. So I sat by myself and the 2 oldest went together. My oldest 2 don't get along well. They were able to look past the differences so that they didn't have to sit by strangers.

We also took 3 in the TSMM ride. My 5 year old wanted nothing to do with the glasses or the gun. You may luck out.

I think you will be fine. Like the above posters said, most can seat 2-3.

At the Dumbo ride, I saw that one family had too many kids to fit into one Dumbo (1 adult, 4 kids). The kids were young enough they needed an adult with them, so one of the CMs rode with two of the kids while the Dad rode with the other two. The kids looked like they were about the same age, so there were probably 2-3 families in that group.
