I am really confused as to what to book for our Easter 2007 trip. There are three of us, me, dbf, dbf's daughter (15). We arrive @ 11:30 pm on April 4th, and leave in the pm on April 15th. I am trying to figure out if we should book a package or seperately. I am not expecting any discounts for this time where it is a peak season. We will want to park hop and go to DisneyQuest and the water parks. I have quoted a package and room only/tickets on the disney website and there is only a $4 difference between the two.

Now my questions after the long explantion - what would you do? Package or seperately? Or try to find a TA? This will be our only trip in 07, so I'm even more confused if we should get AP's or not!

TIA

I think the AP discounts for high season this summer were virtually non-existent, so you may be right. We used the AP to get dining discounts (paid for the DDE also, though there are lesser discounts with just the AP), and that applies whenever. Personally I don't like packages, I just like the control of researching and booking all the separate parts, but that may not work for you. I think 10 days is pretty much the break-even point. We only got one AP, so we could get any room and dining discounts.

You can get some small discounts on the tickets, I understand, through ticketmania and...I forget the other one, but if you subscribe to the mousesavers newletter, you can get the discount code.

Good luck figuring it out!

Afternoon,
I'm originally from Halifax. We have just booked our room only reservations through a wonderful TA out of Toronto. I know wonderful and Toronto in the same sentence...but I digress.
We only paid the downpayment for the rooms (2 wks at Pop) and we can get the park tickets anytime up to 5 days before we go. We booked the airfare to take advantage of a direct flight from Ottawa to Orlando...Our TA will let us know if any good packages come out between now and then. We got the CAA discount on the room only reservation, so that helped

Any questions please ask away

Thanks Bruce :goodvibes

If it makes you feel any better, I'm not from Toronto, I'm from Bolton. :teeth:

To the OP - you are 100% correct in knowing that any discounts will be far and few between for peak season. Therefore, you have to ask yourself what the dining plan is worth to you. You see, by booking no package, you are unable to take Disney's Dining Plan which in actuality saves you about 40% on food. So the small discount that booking separate can get you, does not compare to the larger discount on food that you can get by opting to take a package with the dining plan.

So you have to ask yourself first off, if you intend to do character meals, sit down restaurants and the like. If so, then the dining plan is worth every single penny. If not, then chances are your best bet would be to opt to book separate.

I hope that makes sense. :)
