Really DL, WHY???

I don't know how tall your 8 yr old is or how they like rides in general, but she might surprise you. Our daughter was 7 when we went last year, and her favorite ride of all the parks was Incredicoaster. In general, my kids prefer DCA over DL -not by much, but DCA is definitely their favorite. They have a much stronger connection to Pixar and Marvel than the traditional Disney movies. I think I'm the only one in my family that really likes all of the Fantasyland dark rides because they bring back memories from my childhood.
This is great to hear. You are right. She probably wouldn’t be very familiar with those rides. I just think Peter Pan is an experience. Also Little Mermaid has the going underwater feel and great songs. I do believe she is now tall enough for all of the rides.

Really? I hope thats true but last yeah when I went in Mid June (Friday-Sunday) it was pretty busy. Rides had normal long lines after a few hours.

But hope somehow when I go the second to last weekend these rides are open and its not too busy
June and July are some of the slowest months of the year. Just like Sundays are far less crowded than Mondays.

Wow

Mind blown, had no Idea. Growing up I've been told summer was always super busy.

Well once again hope its true because I a have trip in June and July

Things change. Growing up we used to get our news by watching the 6p evening news on CBS/NBC/ABC. Now those programs are a shell of their former selves. Look at Disney news. Very few people get their news from one of the major broadcast or TV news networks. Everything has gone to social media where people are getting their news from Twitter, TIkTok, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, etc...

This. I have to go on the Fantasyland rides when I am solo or with my sister - they don’t hold the same hold on my kids because they don’t know the movies.

A Disney travel agent that I follow says her guess is that it will be a 5-14 day closure. (take that with a grain of salt, but at least it is a glimmer of hope that it will be a short refurb...)
Looks like 2 weeks. On Monday June 12th, Alice, Mr. Toad and Peter Pan are still down. June 12th is the 8th day.

Yeah I saw the 16th they are back. Now I'm in a little of a dilemma. We have 5 day PH tix starting the 12th. We currently have DCA for Friday, debating swapping that for DLR and moving our second DCA morning to Thursday. I think this is probably what we will do as those two rides will be top of our list of must do's and will probably rope drop them.

Yes I agree.
