So leaving DAK I discovered that it takes 5 stops to get back to boardwalk. 1) Blizzard Beach 2) Swan 3) Dolphin 4) Yacht and Beach Club 5) Boardwalk. Luckily our room is right near jelly rolls so we got off at swan and walked. How is this still "acceptable"? Aren't the people paying hundreds a night complaining about 5 stops. I understand OKW or Caribbean having that many stops because it is all internal, but commmmeee onnn

I think a FREE ride to and from MCO and FREE transportation while on vacation at WDW is fantastic !

all deluxe resorts share.

the MK shares w/each other as well.
it might be Polyn, WL or worst GF (it is the furthest away from BLT and VWL) sometimes think it might be fw as well. It is generally no more than your resort plus 2 others.

AKL shares with Kidani

SSR and OKW have several stops

Epcot resorts have always shared - except during busy times - then BC&Yc share - BW,D&S share - but during those times when only one bus is needed that is all there is.

We usually get off at the Swan and then walk over to the Boardwalk. Usually it's faster than the bus. Plus if our room is close to that end we go into through one of the side doors and take the stairs up.

You're whining...;)

I own at OKW and SSR so I can see the direct cost of the Disney transportation in my Dues since the buses are dedicated. Is this true for the shared resorts?

Why don't you write to Disney to say you would not mind a dues increase to pay for separate busses? If you can get enough members and the Management of the associated hotel to agree maybe they will do that.

I love our dedicated OKW buses, and I think our bus service to the parks from OKW is fantastic.

We get off at swan and walk to BCV. It's pleasant and more interesting than sitting on the bus.
But last time we got a bus from magic kingdom that stopped only at yacht and beach club. We loved that.

Bus routes and frequency do vary slightly depending upon time of day, time of year, etc. During many periods, it just doesn't make sense to limit a bus to two or three stops when passenger counts are extremely low.

Disney is constantly making tough budgetary decisions.

When it comes to theme park operations, folks are certainly welcome to rake them over the coals for slashing services while increasing prices. But at the resorts our dues pay every single dime required to operate (the DVC portion, at least.) And I know there are MANY members upset with the rate at which dues have risen in recent years.

Splitting that route further would have cost owners more. Period.

Is it worth the extra money? Some say yes...others say no. But it is what it is. If you're truly disgruntled with the service and willing to pay more for better options, consider renting a car or grabbing a cab when in a hurry. That's what we usually do.

On recent trips, my experience is it only stops at Swan & Dolphin to MK. First stop coming back.

We have always rented a car and are doing so for our November trip as well. We are staying at BWV and have reservations at BOG on our first night. I was toying with the idea of taking a bus to MK, thinking that might actually be faster than driving - by the time you drive to the TTC parking lot, take the tram to TTC and then take the monorail to MK, it seems like it takes forever. Would it be faster to just take the bus?

Agree with OP - seems excessive. We love the BWVs but always feel like we are on the bus much longer than our stays at other resorts. One trip, late at night (for our kids), we also stopped to change bus drivers at the Marketplace - reallllly long that night. However, we take into account that you don't have to take a bus to get to 2 of the parks - that offsets the other long bus rides for us.

Sorry but lets get the facts right. We own at BWV and it's actually 6 stops:eek: with the BWV the last. YC/BC is 2 stops not 1. this is only from AK.

we don't have a lot to brag about at BWV other then the long hallsways, scary clown pool, and the long hallsways. :rolleyes1
Please don't take our long bus rides away.:rotfl2:

Pretty soon the Swan is going to charge us for getting off there to walk through to BWV. :rotfl2:

I love BWV, and mark it as one of my top 3 resorts to stay at.... if only visiting EPCOT & DHS. The multitude of stops and crowded buses are the only reason My family and I can only stay at the BWV for 2 days at the start of a trip before moving to a more location neutral resort.

Flashback to August 2005: picturing myself crammed into an older bus with traditional style (forward facing) seats, up against the window while holding a sleeping 7yo. The rider next to me must have had the best garlic laden dinner ever, the AC was not working, and it was standing room only. BW was of course the last stop of the 5 from the MK & of course my seat mate was also a BW person so stayed right up against me the whole way  That was the very last time we ever took a bus back to BWV from a park. Every since I've been wishing Disney would at least consider switching the resort loop to the other direction & let the Swan/Dolphin folk get a taste of what it's like. ;)

I usually take the bus to MK. We always drive to AK and DTD.

That is why we drive to each of the resorts even MK. The kiddos actually like the ferry boat ride.:boat:
