Reallocation of Points

I currently have a reservation made with a mix of current and borrowed points. I would like to add on another day to the beginning of the reservation, but there is no availability at my current resort. The extra day would be booked with borrowed points. If I book an extra day at a resort that requires more points per night than my current resort, and my waitlist comes through for my current resort, is member services able to reallocate the points used so that the leftover points would be current and I could bank them since the borrowed points would not be able to be banked?

I hope that this makes sense. Thank you for any help you can give!

Yes. They will always use restricted points first abs free to less restricted ones.

Just be sure to set the waitlist to cancel 31 days out and not 7 since you want a room for less points

Any change to a reservation less than 31 days would resort in holding status for the freed up points

Thank you! I assume this wouldn’t automatically be done until I combined the two reservations into one since it is considered a separate reservation until then?
