Reality TV gone for far??

kinda like the biggest loser meets Dancing with the stars

The only reality type shows I watch are American Idol and Hell's Kitchen

I have never watched Big Brother
Biggest Loser
Dancing w/ the stars
survivor
or any of the other ones not mentioned

Will this find an audience - I'd have to say it will

Nope...won't watch it..but then again I rarely watch tv. I mostly rent DVD's of tv shows and watch that.

The Odd Couple
Family Affair
Rome
Scrubs

The only reality show I ever saw was Project Runway. One season only because my daughter was into it big time.

I like Dancing with the Stars, and I might check this one out. Big Brother, Survivor, and shows like that bore the hell out of me for some reason.

Nah, don't see myself watching that. I do enjoy The Biggest Loser, especially the finale. It's amazing to see the before and after. I also like So You Think You Can Dance, although with the uproar over Nigel's comments this season I'm not sure I'll continue watching it. Most of the time my tv is tuned to Food Network or HGTV and it's just on in the background.

Nah. We're food network, hgtv, people too. We did like Project Runway and do watch some of the chef competitions, although hell's kitchen drives us both nuts so we gave up on it. Gordon is just too much, ya' know?

We don't do bunches of tv. :confused3

I couldn't stand Gordon Ramsay on Hell's Kitchen, but started watching his Kitchen Nightmares show on BBC America, and have come to respect him. Yes he can be a bit abrupt, but at least on Kitchen Nightmares he really cares about helping those people make their restaurants into quality money making culinary institutions.

As for the dancing shows . . . yeah . . . not for us.

The Great Race. :thumbsup2

Is that like The Amazing Race?

I've gotten into a couple seasons of that, but not lately. I'm not even sure what nights it's on anymore.

I probably wont watch. I am the same size as some of those women and watching them strut around in only enough clothing to wrap around their right thigh is not my idea of a good time. :sad2:

I see this as being no different than "The Biggest Loser", the only difference is they have dancing as their workout instead of working out in the gym.

Yeah... I guess I see your point. However, I don't watch the biggest loser either. I like to be put into a fantasy world when I watch TV - not stare at someone my size on the TV screen and turn to Nelson and say "AmI really that big?"... It's kind of depressing for me... but I can see where it would be uplifting for others... To each their own, right?

I think it depends. If it is a serious show that treats the participants with respect then yes.

I'm a big girl as well. If it looked like they were making fun of big folks, then I wouldn't watch. But it looks like it's done VERY tastefully. :thumbsup2 Some of those folks can MOVE!!! I could lose 75 pounds and STILL not be able to shake it like they can! They're really good dancers! Given that it seems like these people are being taken seriously, and not just being made to look like a sideshow, I'd be more likely to watch.
That said, I probably still won't watch. But only because summer is my "less TV, more quality time with my family" time. I watch enough TV during the fall and winter to more than make up for what I miss over the summer...LOL

It'll be interesting to see what they do with this show, but having been a dance major for a couple years in college and being overweight now, I can really identify with the clips they showed of the contestants.

Oh, and one of my brushes with celebrity was being in a ballet class with Kyle MacLachlan back in 1980 when he was in the Professional Actors Training Program at the UW (He was a real cutie, even then...I had SUCH a crush on him!)
