Survivor did this one season, and now The Amazing Race just did this: They eliminate players immediately, before the game even starts. I don't care for this. I wish they would allow all of the contestants to at least start the game before being eliminated.

(and yeah, yeah...in the grand scheme of life who really cares.... LOL)

I'm just sayin'! :confused3

I don't understand the point of that either. Actually, I'd like to see them wait till the second episode before eliminating people.

Oh I agree! Granted there are a lot of other things that are more important but I don't like it either:sad1:

But having said that....I will still watch!

I feel the same way!! So unfair that they got through that entire process and then don't even get to play the game.

The game starts at "GO"! There was a challenge on AR and a team finished it last. It is not as if they just drew a name and eliminated someone. Everyone had an equal opportunity at the challenge. Is it disapointing to go after the first challenge? Absolutely, but it is part of the game and it has to start sometime.

Yeah but you know what I mean... they didn't get to take off for the first "leg" of the race as in seasons past. Even Phil said something like "The last team to find a license plate will be eliminated right at the starting line".

Y'know what I think would be neat... to somehow restructure a "voting out" type game (so Survivor perhaps, but not Amazing Race) so that the viewers vote people out each week, but, of course, due to the nature of how they film things long in advance, neither the players nor even the producers would know, episode to episode, who's "left". So everyone participates to the very end, just trying to do whatever they think will impress the viewers to keep them, and thereby avoid (secret) elimination.

I actually liked that challenge last night. I think AR should do something like that at the start every season. It doesn't have to be an elimination, but it would give some teams a head start, rather than the crazy bunched up traffic scene we see every year.

It also helped that the one team I didn't like during their opening interview was the team that was left behind!;)

I felt so sorry for that first team. Can you imagine telling all your family and friends that you were going to be on the Amazing Race and then you don't even get to go any further than the starting point.

On a side note, I usually wait a while to form my opinion, but I already don't like those poker players.
