Realistically, how long between the first and last corral starts?

Hi all!!

We're so looking forward to the 2014 WDW marathon weekend. There will be a big group of us (I think 15) running the various races, all different levels, starting in all different corrals.

For planning purposes, realistically, how long will the overall start time be the from the first corral to the last corral? I'm not sure it would be a simple formula of x-minutes between each start, as you woud have to account for the variation in sizes in each corral. For example, corral A only has a couple hundred runners, while corral P has over 3500.

Even if estimating 5 minutes between each corral, would it be possible that corral P starts about an hour and a half after corral A? In that case, our corral A runner (who runs a 1:25 half) would finish the half before our corral P runner even starts!

I know the corals were different last year but I think time wise it will be the same...I started in the last coral of all the races and it was close to an hour between the wheelchair division and last coral...let me put it this way...the first person to cross the finish line from coral A in the half marathon had just crossed as my coral was just starting over the start line - they had announced it.

I think it's about an hour, or just under an hour. I don't think that will change with the new number of corrals and spacing, because Disney still has hard deadlines for opening parks, roads, etc.

My guess....

0530 for start

0624 for last corral start

FWIW, I believe there were 8 corrals in the marathon last year. I was in the 6th corral and I feel like it was roughly 35-40 minutes before we got to cross the line.

I think John is close... but I think the last runner clears about 0625.

Down to the wire! I crossed the start line last year...last...and shortly after heard voices screaming into the night air that we needed to move it...because the last coral was full of walkers...I look back and see a row of balloon ladies...my brother was shocked because he thought I was making that up...about the balloon ladies...this was very close to 630am.

The program is out, but unlike the Wine & Dine program, it only lists the wheelchair start time (5:33am) and first corral start time (5:35am) and not the individual corral start times.

Does that estimated time Coach posted work for the half as well? I'm trying to gauge when the other 3 people in my party will finish. I'm in corral C, DW is in G and the other 2 are in M. It would be great if I had time to go to the room and take a quick shower before meeting them back at the finish line.

It should - its basically the same number of runners. Not sure you'd have enough time to leave and come back though - transportation to/from should be a little slow going.

I did some rough math and I'd have a little over an hour between my finish time and the estimated finish time for the last runner in our group. That would be fine I think since we're staying at the Dolphin; however my wife is expected to finish about half an hour before that and I will not miss her crossing the finish line.

Either way, we'll all finish early enough to have a nice day in one of the parks. I was thinking last year when I did the full marathon and it was lunch time before we made it back to our rooms.
