Realistically, how far is BW Raffles??

I need to know exactly how far away is the BW Raffles hotel? I can see on the map and it says 1 1/2 but I think it's a pretty BIG block! I remember now when we were there in 2003, we stayed at what is now the HOJO's (or I'm almost 100% certain after looking at the map). We were very happy with the location and it was a pretty easy walk for my then 3 yr old and 6 yr old. We made many walks back and forth to the hotel.

I am seriously rethinking our stay at Embassy because of the distance factor....I really want to be within walking distance. But I also don't think I want to be locked up in a regular room with 3 kids all week!!! :scared1: If we could afford 2 rooms at the HOJO, I would go for that in a heartbeat. But I priced the rooms and for the dates we are going to be there (Aug 13-20), the rooms are around $145. We can't afford 2 rooms at that price ($290/night). So I was looking at the BW Raffles and it looks like it would fit our needs but I also need to know how far away it is, realistically speaking. I don't care if it's a fancy place or not, or whether there are free meals/parking, etc. I like that it has a separate room (which we could really use with the little guy who needs his afternoon naps) and it looks like it might be within walking distance. Can anyone help me out here? :confused3 Or if you know of a way I can get a cheaper rate at HOJO's so we could grab 2 rooms, that would be ideal! Put the kids in one room and us in another!! :woohoo:

Thanks!

we don't usually venture down harbor that far, but isn't it close to the toy story parking lot? if so, you can walk there and hop a bus to the front gate. :goodvibes

.66 miles. Personally I would not want to walk that back and forth. We usually stay somewhere between Katella and Ball which is much easier. It is certainly doable but not to be looked forward to ans 12:30 A.M. :)

grrr....I am really struggling with this indecisiveness on where to stay. The only good thing is that we do have reservations at the Embassy so worse case scenario, we stay there. I hate not being able to remember all the places that were TRULY within walking distance (and not what they tell on their website). It's been 8 years and the old memory isn't so good....lol. Any input from anyone who has been there and what their experience was would be very helpful. I am going to keep trying to find rooms at a cheaper price for HOJO and doing more research on other places near the park. If I can't decide, I guess we will just stay where we originally had planned but I am not looking forward to paying for parking at the hotel AND the park! And we don't want to rely on a shuttle because frankly, my 3 year old isn't the most patient or pleasant when it's time for him to be "done". :sad2:

Aside from HoJo we like
Best Western Park Place Inn (closest you can get)
Best Western Anaheim Inn
Camelot Inn and Suites
Candy Cane Inn

Desert Inn and Suites is fine but not quite as good.

Other in that area are
Fairfield Inn
Tropicana
Carousel Inn
Ramada Maingate

And not as popular but nice location
Del Sol
Anaheim Plaza

Ooops. I forgot the Park Vue. Mixed reviews but awesome location.

Check out Park Vue Inn. It's right across the street and has a very nice free breakfast! We stayed there in March and loved it!!

I feel your pain. We're going Labour day weekend and trying to find a place that's not pricey (over 100$ a night is pricey for us) and close to the parks is becoming a challenge.

We're looking at Best Western Stovall's Inn currently since the other recommended Best Western options are full (and the other good options are either full or out of our budget). Does anyone have any experience with Stovall's?

Does your hotel offer a shuttle. We used the shuttle from a hotel before and the wait time was not bad. Sometimes the lines to get on the tram to the parking structures has a wait (It is worse late evenings) I have a pass with parking but i usually only use it when we go for the day. If we are staying at a hotel we usually walk.

Also will you little one be in a stroller. I remember when mine were little they would just pass out in the stroller when walking back to the hotel.

We will be staying there in 5 days. We planned on walking up to the Toy Story lot and catching the shuttle. There is also a Anaheim transit that picks up right in front of the hotel for a fee. When I calculated the walk to Disneyland it was about a 20 min walk.
