Thanks for posting this info - it's very helpful. Hope you had a great trip!
Did you enjoy these restaurants?

I am glad that you were able to save on the DxDDP! It's great to hear that it works for some. :goodvibes

At this point in our lives I know it's not for us, but soon we'll have three children and for at least a year all three will qualify as children on the plan. I know we'll be taking another look at what we'd save with how we eat when the boys get a little older.

I had not expected to save as much on the DxDDP as I did.

In hindsight, we probably should have missed/cancelled one or two of our TS as we were tired/rushing to make a few of them. We really wanted to try the restaurants, not maximize the plan. However, it is nice to know if we'd have changed a couple to CS, we wouldn't have lost much value.

did you include tax amount in what it would have cost you out of pocket???

If not...even more savings. My hubby thinks I'm crazy (well he already knows) as we've been picking meals etc etc for months. After I booked DDP, I was wondering abou DxDP, as we eat more sit down meals. It's really more our style...so we are doing deluxe, but I was making him pick out meals so I could figure it all out. We have never done dining before so this is all new to us. Many, Many, many trips to WDW, but never on DDP.

We are going in August will be on the Deluxe Plan with me, dh, ds8 and ds14. Were there menu items that were not included in the plan? For example, could you order sushi as an appetizer at California Grill? What about the Surf and Turf at Narcoossees? Did the server tell you of any "restrictions"? We have our ADR's and can't wait to try all the signature restaurants.

You can order all but the 2 most expensive sushi dishes as appetizers at the California grill. My wife ordered sushi as an appetizer. The 2 most expensive sushis are considered entrees. I presume you could order a less expensive sushi as an appetizer, and have sushi and sushi, if you wanted.

Lobster and surf and turf was an entree at Narcosees. My wife had the lobster.

I did include tax in the savings.
