Real or Scam?

The radio station in our old town would do this. They would get gift cards and services donated from local businesses and then auction them off. Once a price was set you could buy them for that price. Generally you could get a $20 gift card for $12-15. It was a great deal. Now, internet ones, who knows.

I didn't look but in regards to the previous poster. I know we have a radio station here that does something called the Radio Shopping Show & yes, you pay less than retail for the gift certificates/coupons.

A lot of them do have restrictions, such as you can only use it for dinner or whatever.

The idea behind it is the win-win concept of you would be more willing to try a new place with the discount and the new place gets new customers by offering it. I don't kow if they have to pay to get on there or just offer it.

It seems a lot of things are about 1/2 face value if I recall.

And, free on air advertising. :thumbsup2

local radio station and newspaper also do this.
Sometimes you only save like $5.00 but I have seen $30 gift certificates for $15.
One of the biggest restrictions I have seen with some is that the certificate has to be used in full with no money back. I have seen certificates for restaraunts to spas to water parks.

I looked at it and feel very uncomfortable.

1. The domain name has been in existence for less than five months.

2. You have to buy packs of bids. Until you register you cannot find what a pack of bids costs.

3. Each 1¢ bid you make takes away from your pack of bids, so you are paying for the priviledge of bidding.

4. You have no idea when an auction will end. Every time there is a bid the time counter goes up again by some amount of time.

5. They say they donate to a charity. Big Deal!

I can't speak for all of them but Dh has gotten An apple bees 50.00 GC for .23, An 50 visa gc for .62, A visa gc for .26 and I believe another one or 2 for fairly cheap. Lets just say he did a lot of Xmas shopping cheaply. I personally used the Visa GC to pay of our Jan trip to WDW and it looked just like ones you would buy in store. I know the visa Gc's have been used Not sure on applebees GC but knowing my Brother most likely
