We always had a real tree until we moved to Las Vegas. We got a real tree the first year we lived there and I had to take it down the day after Christmas it was so dry and it scared us. The next year we bought a fake tree and adopted a cat so it's been a fake tree without tinsel every year since. I don't miss the real tree as much as I miss the tinsel.

We have a fake one, but I do like the real ones too..............

All 6 of ours are fake.

Big & full in the livingroom. (Gold & pearl ornaments only)
Tall & slim in the familyroom. (Disney Tree)
3 Footer on table in foyer. (Little presents)
2 Footer Toy Story tree in DS's room
2 Footer Pacifier tree in baby's room
2 Footer tiny kitchen utensils tree on kitchen counter.

Real Tree. Never had a fake tree in my life... :) Keeping the tradition up w/ my kids.. :teeth:

I had my last real tree about a decade ago. I always left a few days before Christmas to go visit my parents. That year Super Shuttle was picking me up at 4:30 am for my flight. As I was getting ready that morning I realized that my tree was absolutely dry as tender (although I had kept it well watered) and it was in a window with sun shining in. I could just imagine it going up in a blaze while I was gone (and no I did not leave the lights on while I was away). So I was frantically trying to undecorate it and then drag it out to the dumpster before my ride got there. I still wonder how many ornaments were still on that tree when I threw it away.

Now I love the fact that I can put the artificial tree up as early as I want and leave it up as long as I want without having to worry about it. Oh and yes the BEST part is my artificial tree has the lights on it. I hate putting the lights on so having a prelit tree is heaven.

My sister loves real trees and had a fit when she saw my artificial tree after I moved back to Arkansas. I reminded her that I had asthma to shut her up but I would have an artificial one anyway for the lights alone.

I refuse to get a fake tree...never had a fake one while growing up so I refuse to have a fake one in my own house. :) DH used to give me a hard time about getting a real tree with it being just us, but now that we have DS he can't make fun of me. :)

I do have a fake mini tree that I put all of my hallmark mini disney ornaments.

I grew up on fake in urban NYC, so when I moved to Georgia I thought I'd go the live route.

I'm over it...

I could live without the pine needles OUCH and the clogging up of my vacuum cleaner. I DO love the smell but not the work.

I just had to get rid of my two artificials because they were left outside during my last move and they smell like some cats used it for litter... ewwwwwww! I'm eyeing another 7 foot darling that will HAVE to go on sale one day before Christmas! :teeth:

Always fake. The one time we tried a real tree, my sister ended up in the hospital.

It must be REAL or it does not get put up. :D
Seriously we lived in a very small apt. for three years and did not have a tree, because there was just no room for a real one.

PS. Just husband and I, no children.

REAL...... We usually do the tree farm thing too.....if you do the Christmas Tree lot route- you never really know when it was cut and we like to leave ours up for 3 weeks or so.

I love the thoughts of having a real tree, but with our trip to Disney in December it usually puts us in a bind. I like to put it up early so that is one less thing to do when we get back home.

We have one tree in the front room that is only for Disney ornaments. We will probably start putting that one up next week as we are also going to be going off just before Thanksgiving.

The tree in our living area will be put up Thanksgiving weekend and then we leave the following Tuesday for Disney. Yeah!!

We have fake. I would love a real tree but, DH is an asst fire chief and has seen too many fires started from christmas trees. I have begged and pleaded and promised that I will keep it watered to no avail:(

This statement makes me want to go back to fake! That's scary if a fire chief won't have a real tree.

We have real every year....EXCEPT this year....it will be a fake 4 ft tree....but hey we will be in Disney World I don't think we will mind toooo much...:D :D :D

We did the real tree thing for quite a while and then I just got tired of only having it up for only of two weeks and then of course the cleaning up of the pine needles. I finally convinced my DH to get a fake one. Now we have it up the day after Thanksgiving to the Epiphany. It's great, it feels like Christmas a lot longer now and of course no clean up:D

Fake! We like having our 16' tree in our big living room, and I can't see cutting down a nice tree that big just for a few weeks.

Fake.

But this year I am buying a REAL wreath for the smell. :)

Fake here, too.

Because of the allergies, the fire hazard, and the loose needles that are so hard to get out of the carpet.

I do use pine-scented air fresheners, though!

Fake for us

To many animals for a live one, they would have it destroyed quickly!
