Going to Disney in September and will have one day for Universal. I want to see all the Harry Potter stuff, but don't know which park or what it all consists of. Help!!

Universal Studios Florida consists of two parks, located right next to each other.

The first is Universal Studios. The new Diagon Alley is located at this park.

The attractions are:
  • Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
  • Ollivander's Wand Shop
  • Carkitt Market Stage

The other park is Islands of Adventure. This is where Hogsmeade is located.

The attractions are:
  • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
  • Dragon Challenge
  • Flight of the Hippogriff
  • Ollivander's Wand Shop

The Hogwarts Express is an attraction that can take you from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley or vice versa. But you need a two park ticket to ride it, since it takes you from one park to the other.

I'm personally not much of a fan of the site layout for Universal so I can see how it might be a tad bit much for someone completely unaware of what the resort is. So in addition to the website that damo listed it might be helpful to also have a wiki tab open to read about the history of the park as well as the breakdown of the current attractions offered. It's a lot more to it than Harry Potter stuff, OP.

i have found that wiki is not always that reliable or accurate.

the UO website has info you can count on.
the search on it is not the best but it's what we have.

FYI: Touringplans.com has a special touring plan for one day visitors who want to see all the Harry Potter stuff with a one day park to park ticket. They also throw in a couple of other highly rated attractions (good choices actually -- we get in our favorites). It's a six dollar cost for an annual subscription to their Universal plans. Given that a one day park to park ticket for one person is $136 before taxes, I did the $6 investment to make the most of our day. It's also nice to see their predictions of what line waits we'll be. We're going at a low crowd level time, but waits will still be long for Gringotts and Forbidden Journey. Still it didn't look too bad and helped me decide that a one day visit would be worthwhile and that for what we are interested a one day visit will work well for us.
