"Real" MK Opening and First Haircut

We are going in mid Dec and I have purposely waited on getting my 4 year old daughter's hair cut, so she can have her first hair cut the same day as her 23 month old brother's. We live in CA, and I have been talking about getting DD first haircut at MK for YEARS! I think my husband thinks I am crazy. I am so glad we are finally going. Although it will be sad when Little Joe loses his curls!

Adorable pictures of all the kid's first haircuts. Thanks for sharing!

just curious...when you went and there was a long line, what time of day was it? part of me wants to do this right at rope drop, b/c I think we'd get through quicker, but I'm also concerned b/c then we won't be at Fantasyland at 9 am to get Dumbo and those kind of rides done with before the long lines form (not really for my 18 month old's sake, but b/c we also have a 4 yr old daughter!). my husband's solution is to have both girls get their hair cut!

The first day that we went it was about lunch time and there were a bunch of adults getting their hair cut. The second time that we went, it was early, just after the park opened...maybe 9:30 or so. It wouldn't hurt to have both of them cut...it would be very cute. It took a bit longer this time than it did the first time it was cut. It didn't seem like should would cooperate at all, but finally came around when they brought out the "big bubbles" for her to blow. Boy, they really know how to work quick and do such a great job.

Have fun and good luck.

The pic below was PRE hair cut....LOL

9 has meant 9 whenever I have been there. They start to let you through Main Street a few minutes early to get to the rope drop areas but that's it.

Years ago I remember getting in half an hour early - and I hear it could be earlier in the off season. Since the turn of the century, we've never even been allowed on Main Street until the official open time (unless you have a early breakfast reservation.)

We went the first week of August for DS's first hair cut. We got there at about 9:30. They were finishing up a dad and his daughter (only family there). As soon as she was done, it was DS's turn. Mary did a great job. Only one other person came in while we were there, and it was a Disney exec. I was very surprised that they were not busy.
Enjoy the experience, you will remember it always.
