I love watching the show because it gives me a little home. :lovestruc
I'm from Wayne, I got married at the Brownstone and my brother got married at the Manor. I would love to have had Carrado's when I lived there, we had to go to Paterson to the market there back then. But we did love Market Basket in Franklin Lakes.

Wow, I'd say the Christening brawl takes the cake of all of the NJ housewive's brawls so far...it was actually sad in my opinion. There must be a lot of animosity (back story) to those relationships.

Just when you think they can't get any trashier..... :scared1:

I think I read Joe and Theresa claimed bankrupcy which means they don't have to pay back their creditors but doesn't mean they automatically lose their house. I also remember they had to sell alot of their furniture, and the house did seem pretty empty. If they are going into forclosure it could be that they are just staying in the house til the bank finally takes over. Or maybe the Bravo/cookbook money is just enough to cover the mortgage?

They whole family fued seems very fishy to me. Why would Theresa allow her sister-in-law and cousin to be on the show if they all don't get along? I'm sure she had a say in Bravo reaching out to 2 of her family members to be on the show. I thought it was funny that Juicy started the fight but he wasn't even in the room and there were like 4 other grown men fighting at a baptism! And then all the guys decided they needed to go back to the bar!!
How totally GODFATHER was the scene where Joe was screaming at his sick father after the fight? Total cliche!

Jacqueline does look like she lost a ton of weight but her face also looks different to me. Anyone else think so?

i would like to know why juicy joe's sister was at the christening? that seemed strange to me. joe is just gross altogether in my opinion.

i absolutely love caroline and her family.so down to earth and caring for each other.

That christening brawl was over the top! The best comment, though, was when Melissa said her Joe works hard because they have bills to pay.

The whole being mad over the fact that Joe Guidice wouldn't do a shot was ridiculous! Joe said he had nothing to eat - at least he explained the reason imo. Why did Theresa's brother and SIL make a big deal out of him not doing a shot at their son's baptism? I mean, really? Who gives a care about something as little as that?

And, who acts that way at a baptism? If this were me, I hope that I'd have the decency to just say "Thanks! Glad you could make it!" and turn the other cheek only because it was a christening and not the place.

I thought it was very rude of Theresa to care more about her kid's purse than getting to the baptism on time. I mean, shoe on the other foot, Theresa would've been as mad as Melissa was if Melissa pulled the same crap!

Kathy's husband is just weird and kind of creepy. I think Kathy will be very interesting this year ... I think she'll find herself between Theresa and Melissa often!

And that Ashley is a brat!! The only one I like is Caroline Manzo. Love her family, too. She seems the most genuine and grounded of them all -- she doesn't have the "trappings" that the other women have (stylists, make up artists, etc.).

How else are they going to get up to 150 people, lol?
I love Caroline and her family as well. I was totally cracking up when she and her son were talking Cajun jibberish. :goodvibes

I'm thinking it's not about the shot of alcohol...it's more of the gesture of "toasting" together...honoring the baptism of the son and to his future prosperity, etc. It's more about the tradition and was looked at as an isult that Joe G. didn't want to take part in being "paisanos"... and family. It all sounds kind of Godfather-ish, but is truly an important part of the Italian culture.

with a personality like theirs(and their connections) they don't know 150 people(including the kids).

I'm an Italian New Yorker and my dh's family is off the boat, but taking shots isn't an "important" part of the culture, especially at a christening! The guys were all wasted drunk and had a chip on their shoulder about Joe G to begin with (whether justified or not).

This show was a total train wreck and I am on board for the entire ride! :lmao: From disgusting new Joe's purple shirt with the gigundo cross hanging out the collar to Kathy's psuedo-Italian Lebanese husband's crazy glasses to spoiled Ashley crying because she doesn't have a penthouse on Park Avenue for her unpaid internship....it is unbelievable. For a minute there watching the Gorga's I almost missed Danielle. ;)

I understand Caroline crying/shedding a tear about the boys moving out. I had some tears roll when my 2 oldest left the nest. She had them leave at the the same time. My 2 left a year apart.

It leaves the house quiet and you realize how much you looked forward to them coming home in the evening. It's bittersweet tears, like she said you raise them to leave and when they do it's "oh wow my job is over"

She seems to be very close to her kids, which I adore and can relate to.

Jacqueline has her heart in the right place too. The rest of them are garbage and give real Jersey housewives a bad rap.

Turning down a shot like Joe was offered was a slap in the face, but I think Joe is trying to curb his drinking. The Italian men are a completely different breed when it comes to certain things.

Yes, they were very drunk and I agree that they should have been respecting the sacredness of the Christening somewhat more, but taking out the alcohol factor, it was an insult for Joe not to join them in toasting/honoring the tradition of family/Joe's son.

Regarding Teresa and Joe still living "large" despite being in debt/declaring bankruptcy: I would be embarressed to have my excesses shown on TV, while declaring that I can't pay what I owe people. How many of their creditors lost money/lost their business becasuse the Guidices got out of paying by declaring bankruptcy?

If we owed even $1000 to someone, my DH wouldn't let me buy so much as Kleenex before we paid our debt.

Just realized my post makes me sound very self-rightous.

But I am watching this silliness on TV, and won't miss an episode, so a model of maturity I am not. :rotfl2: Guess watching this just makes me feel superior!

Wow, Theresa's family is one big train wreck. What a mess that was. I definitely think that Theresa and Melissa are jealous of each other and are always trying to one up the other. I can see how that would cause a rift between Theresa and her brother. Then add in Juicy getting in between a father and son, and you get what we saw last night.

The scene where the brother is yelling and crying at the dad is straight out of Godfather. I can almost hear Fredo yell out "Papa!" when Marlon Brando gets shot.

What a spoiled brat Ashley is. I cannot believe she thought she would get a New York apartment. She is so lucky that her step father does so much for her. He handled it well. I understand why Jacqueline got so mad when they were talking about it, but really, she should have just let Chris do all of the talking because he was better at diffusing the situation.

I totally understand why Caroline cried last night. I will probably cry when my boys move out too. I love her family. To me, they seem the most level headed.

It seems like this is going to be another great season!

Sorry PP but I too would have shed some tears if my kids were moving out. It's not that she doesn't want them to grow up but she is a Mom. She is probably happy but it is bittersweet because the time goes by so quickly.

To those posters that said they would have cried like Caroline when their sons moved out …. I DID when my two sons left for college at 18 years old and they attended college out of state. BUT like I said they were 18yo.
Caroline's kiddos are Albie, 25; Lauren, 23; and Christopher, 22. AND they moved a few towns away to Hoboken in the SAME state. I think at those ages I would be throwing a party if my kiddos FINALLY left. ::yes::
Now as far as my kiddos go, like I said I did cry when they left for college, at 18yo and moving out of state BUT then again DH & I adjusted wonderfully to them being gone  that I cried again when they returned for vacation.

There was drinking at an infants Christening. There was an open bar! All the adults looked like orange traffic cones, the kids normal complexion, but the adults 5 shades darker. I can't do it. I need a serious break from the Housewives. SO FAKE!

Having liquor at the party is not a big deal. We had liquor at our children's Christenings. Not everyone is a raging drunk. Some adults like a drink at a party. It's not a big deal. We have parties like that all the time.

ITA
We have alcohol at all types of parties. Christenings, birthday parties, whatever. I don't think I've ever seen anyone drunk at any of them

Sorry, but in my opinion, the adults were gathered at the bar taking shots to head. I just thought it was a little too much for an infants Christening. A fight broke out! It felt like I was watching an episode of Jersey Shore with kids. Maybe it was because of the cameras but IMO, I thought the whole thing was rather tacky.

ITA w/Honny. I understand alcohol at christenings BUT not to the point where the guests loose all control and act like raging maniacs. That was ridiculous. I thought Teresa's dad was gloing to have a heart attack as he was so upset by everyone's behavior.

AND I felt the worst for GIA, she has this loving moment with her Uncle Joey (when she returned from the meet) who tells her over and over again he loves her and then right in front of her calls her mother GARBAGE. That was disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Uncle Joey slamming his hand on the table and blowing up …..
