Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I don't get where people seemed relieved that Yolanda left? They all were shocked she came because she's been so ill but were happy to see her. The only one that had anything really negative to say was Ken, and I do believe Lisa definitely has her issues with Yolanda still (as she stated.) Everyone else seemed supportive of Yolanda.

I don't know if I believe she has Lyme Disease though, I do think she is sick I just don't know with what. I also do not like the blog she wrote where she tried to compare AIDs/HIV with Lyme. That was very tasteless, imo. There is no comparison between the two, not even in the slightest.
Kind of in the same boat as comparing pancreatitis to pancreatic cancer!

I'm not so sure about that. I didn't read the blog post, so
I can't speak to that. But, we have a family friend who contracted Lyme Disease while attending a wedding out here on Long Island. She was bitten by an infected tick at a backyard wedding. Because she went home to Pittsburgh where deer ticks aren't prevalent, no one could figure out why she was sick. They thought she had the flu, then a virus, then they tested for a bunch of other illnesses/diseases/etc. Almost a year passed before she was tested for Lyme. By then, her kidneys were very badly damaged. She had to quit her job as a nurse. She's had to endure countless hospitals stays because of the kidney damage. She was only in her 20s when diagnosed and not to be dramatic, but Lyme Disease truly has ruined her life. She is a VERY sick woman.

I didn't read where she talked about lyme and aids but it is something that has been used in the lyme community. Its supposed to be used together to show that like aids in the 80's not getting treatment and being treated badly by some medical professionals lyme is like that now. It's an epidemic that keeps growing and growing. It's not meant to compare the actual illness.

I have late stage neurological lyme. I've had it at least 8 years and bedridden off and on for 6. I've lost some memory due to it. I passed it to my daughter during pregnancy and she tested positive through two labs at birth.

Sadly in know a few people die from lyme complications. One was a 4 year old whose death was ruled as cardiac death due to lyme disease

But it's not even comparable in that sense either? Not even close, its a huge stretch if that's the reason they are attempting to use. It's nothing like it was in the 80s for those who were diagnosed with AIDs/HIV. It's really not okay.

I'm sorry for what you are going through it must be really hard, and I feel for those who have lost someone to it. And I hope that you and all those that are effected by Lyme will be able to be cured of it.

These are the kinds of stories that people need to hear. So many just think lyme is a simple little inconvenience cured by a round of antibiotics. And sometimes it is. Other times, it affects the heart, brain, and other organs. I too know people whose lives have been completely ruined, by a simple tick bite. It is no joke. What Yolanda is going through is pretty spot on for a case of chronic lyme. Her body is literally betraying her.

I don't know about comparing lyme to aids/hiv, I think they mean in the sense that lyme, like aids/hiv is an epidemic that little is known about (like aids in the beginning) but they are both chronic life long diseases. Both have no cure. Here is an excerpt from an article about the comparison of the two:

"As I often tell patients, Lyme disease usually does not kill you the way AIDS does, but it often makes you wish you were dead."

That's no exaggeration. The physical pain, mental confusion, and medical quandries related to Lyme make many patients feel that life is simply too challenging and confused to want to continue. I have gone to sleep on countless nights praying that I wouldn't have to wake up to continue the battle. So again, Lyme is not AIDS, but Lyme can be as devastating on the body as AIDS is -- up to the point of death.

I thought Yolonda had a leaking breast implant that was causing her to feel so ill, and not the Lyme disease. I remember reading about the breast leak a couple of months ago.

I thought Ken was trying to be supportive, not negative. When he said she looked horrible, he clarified and said he meant not healthy. Lisa, on the other hand, make snarky talking head comments about Yolanda coming out without makeup.

The leaking implants could have made her lyme worse, so she had them both removed. they found one was leaking and thought it could be aggravating the lyme symptoms. The hope was that once they removed the implants the lyme would improve, but it did not.

I'm so glad Brandi isn't going to be around much this season. I found it interesting that Yo is staying in the condo. Could they have been separated at the beginning if filming? And I can't help thinking that she wore no makeup on purpose. Maybe to show everyone just how ill she really is. Let's face it, none of those ladies do their own makeup when they go out to an event. So it's not like she was "too sick" to do her makeup. Just my opinion.

several media outlets are reporting that they've been separated for months which would make sense since he took a job hosting 'asia's got talent' at the beginning of this year so between that and his other stuff he's not even around much. there's also reports that there are major financial issues going on with the couple-large loss on the sale of the home as well as his most recent record deal being a bust (he made no money for the company so they are getting ready to cut ties).

Still think it's a tasteless comparison. So very tasteless, I am sure those with Lyme go through a ton and I really feel for them but it's nothing compared to AIDs/HIV. Especially when they try to insinuate there is a stigma to Lyme like there was with AIDs/HIV which is the farthest thing from the truth.

Thank you so much for sharing your story as this is a disease that so many don't know enough about. I hope all is well and that you and your daughter are feeling better.

I finally watched the show today due to a busy week. Wow. Where do I begin? Yolanda's illness sends a clear message that no matter how much money you have, your health is more valuable than all your possessions. Clearly, we cannot contol everything and we cannot throw money at an illness and make it go away. Imagine how much Yolanda has spent on various treatments and she is still not feeling better.

What most disturbed me was Lisa and Ken's attitude toward her illness. It didn't seem like they had much compassion and Ken REPEATEDLY commented on how bad she looked. Of course, he finally clarified that she looked ill, but it was said without much sympathy. Kyle was sitting next to Ken and I could see that his comments were making her feel uncomfortable. Lisa, on the other hand stayed quiet, but earlier said she was not criticizing her illness but was questioning it. Ken and Lisa, I'm sorry, seem to fear things that will blemish their perfect little world. And as Lisa Rhinna so perfectly said, "we all wear our armor." Clearly the guests seemed uncomfortable with Yolanda's lack of armor.

And I'm loving that this group is made up of women in their 40's and 50's and I am NOT missing Brandy at all.

Tonight......

Kyle's oldest DD and youngest DD in her neice's wedding ( the wealthy Hilton girls) abut her middle two- teens- are not even invited because " no kids at wedding"...?

I did read that her husband was not invited because of a bad bizness deal between him and the brides Dad

The two daughters of Kyle's that weren't invited are 15 and 18/19. So in reality, the no kids thing doesn't seem believable.

one reason that sometimes no kids invited is-to keep costs down
these are the HILTONS:sad2:
very weird!

I wish Lisa would have shut up though. Glad one of the daughters finally said something. Clearly it's a very painful topic.

Yolanda at the oral surgeon--odd. Why is she on the show if she is so sick? We've heard it's Lyme disease, leaking breast implant, Mercury fillings, she had parasites???? And the prescription closet was scary (although I guess a lot of those were vitamins).

I love all the old timers at the Hat party❤️

That Erika Jayne is either46-43 or 29 according to various sites online....talk about a Gold digger
:rolleyes1

She said on the show last night she is 45 (or something close to that number). I thought she looked a bit older than that.

So that would be Kathy Hilton's husband Rick, yes? He's such a prominent business man himself, I wonder what business he had with Mauricio and then what happened for it to go awry like that? Hmm interesting!

I assumed part of the rift was because of the family division over Kim. Kim and Kyle are constantly at odds, especially after last year when Kim's dog bit one of Kyle's daughter's hands and ended up in the ER. Kathy tends to side with Kim and be protective of her, also putting her at odds with Kyle. I thought maybe the daughters weren't invited because of the drama-filled dog bite incident, and Mauricio was collateral damage as a result of that as well. But not surprised to hear about the potentially bad business deal - they have been accused of mixing business and friends/family for selfish reasons before. I even recall Brandi saying Kyle and Mauricio were trying to get close with Adrianne and Paul during their divorce so Mauricio could score the listing on their mansion. Which I believe he did.
