Real Estate Taxes?

We are looking to buy into DVC via resale most likely...POSSIBLY through Disney. In all of our conversations with people at DVC and at TTS, no one ever mentioned real estate taxes. We assumed (perhaps foolishly) that they were included in the maintenence fees. Could anyone clarify? Do you pay real estate taxes seperately?

I ask because I saw a listing on ebay (can I post a link here?) and it showed the maintenence fees as $533 and the real estate tax of $128, making it seem as though we would have to pay both amounts seperately.

The maintenance fees include the real estate taxes. For many/most people who itemize their taxes, the real estate tax portion of the dues is likely tax deductible. That may be the reason some list it separately, but it is included in the maintenance fees and when the maintenance fee rate is quoted to you it (should) include the taxes in as part of the maintenance fee since that is the way you are billed.

The dues include the real estate tax. If you have a good understanding of tax law and can itemize the portion of your dues dedicated to real estate tax it is deductible.
