This will be our first experience using WDW meal vouchers. I'm hoping you guys can help me maximize them as much as possible.

There will be DH, DS(12), & me. I definitely want to order vouchers for Beaches & Cream, and the lunch vouchers for RFC at AK. I'm wondering how many of each I will need to order for the three of us. If this is alot of food, we would love to be able to save money by sharing the meals. Also, I noticed the RFC child's menu is for 12 & U. If I order one child's voucher, what does it include? Noone probably wouldn't eat just the plain kids meal items.

I would also like to order Q & C vouchers for the day we go resort hopping. We will be going to WL, CR, GF, and Poly. Out of these choices, where would be the best place to use the vouchers? Thanks in advance for your help. :)

First, the Q&C vouchers: We usually use 2 for 3 people. Remember, at Beaches and Cream the desserts are huge, so you really don't need to "fill up" on the sandwiches. However with 2 vouchers you can get 2 double cheeseburgers with fries which would feed 4 of us without the ice cream.

Next for the VKL vouchers: At RFC a child can choose from the main menu using the vouchers, so 1 child and 1 adult voucher should be more than enough. I know you can use 2 adult vouchers to get the volcano dessert, but I'm not sure if you can combine 1 adult and 1 child for this.

We love using the vouchers. We normally share at restaurants even when paying cash, so sharing isn't an issue for us. The vouchers save us money and are really convenient as well. Also think about using vouchers at other locations. There are many places where they are worth while.

At the RFC when we had childs vouchers they let us order off the adult menu. That said if it were just 3 of us I would probably just order 1 voucher. You get an appetizer, main entree, dessert and a drink.
Here is a link to Deb's site with the menu's

If it were us and my 14 yr old we would get the caribe chicken for my ds and then ds I would probably share the Mixed Maya grill. You get shrimp, chicken and mojo bones. It may not really sound like a lot but it is.
Our last trip there was 8 of us and we used 2 adult and 2 childs vouchers and we still had more food than we could eat.

You can also check the places that you want to use your Q&C vouchers at to see what the best deal for you.

Where can I order these vouchers for hotel restaurants and also for sit down at the parks. Not the q and c . Thanks!

I like Hotwire Savings Club, too. Ordered vouchers for our Thanksgiving trip. Ordered 11 Q&C as it will be myself, DS (15) & DD(16). Oldest DS & DIL will be there and I intend to give them a couple to help their budget. Also ordered the Character Breakfast Vouchers (18.50) as it is a pretty good deal & includes tax/tip. We plan to have an early dinner @Planet Hollywood on the day we arrive, so I purchased a $25 gift card to help out son's budget and I get $5 back. Also, I didn't have to pay any shipping charges. For the 3 of us in my budget group we usually use 2 per day with DD and I sharing a meal. We never feel at all deprived. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Our first (and second!) visit to Beaches & Cream was last month, and we used 2 Q&C's each time for 4 of us. This included DD11, DD2, DH, and me. We are all large eaters, and this meal filled us. We have been to WDW a handful of times, and this was one of the most enjoyable, non character meals we have ever had. The first time at B&C, we had two roast beef subs, two drinks (not shakes, but unlimited refills included), onion rings, and two monstrous sundaes. The second time, we had the same thing, except with the double burgers. We had all the available toppings put on the burgers (except mushrooms), and they split them and the onion rings in half before they brought it to the table, since we told them we would be sharing. At RFC, we used 1 Adult and 1 children's voucher, and the portions were obscene. I would suggest a very lite, early lunch, if you plan on using these for dinner at AK. RFC was offering some special combo meals in Sept, which they allowed us to order with the vouchers. They also allowed us to get "add ons" of either soup or salad, included with the voucher. I was able to get an icee in a souvenir cup as my drink. Just a note regarding the use of the vouchers at the Japanese counter service in Epcot- you are no longer able to get the sushi rolls as a side, and the salad we got instead had a somewhat spicy dressing. These vouchers kept us happy and full for most of the trip!

Thanks for all the great info. :) It definitely sounds like 2 Q&C vouchers will be more than enough at B&C.

Just to clarify on lunch vouchers at RFC. DH & I share meals often, so we probably would have anyway. DS, on the other hand, is a typical 12 yo. boy and rarely is up for sharing. Since he's 12, we can order the child's voucher. You all mentioned that you can order off the regular menu with a child's voucher, but I'm still a little confused at exactly what he will be able to order. I guess I'm a little surprised that he would be able to order from the regular menu. If we get there, and the server made him order off the kids menu, for some reason, that would be a voucher wasted, because he wouldn't order that. Could you be a little more specific as to what he'll be able to order? Also, what are the hours that we can use the vouchers at RFC at AK? Can they also be used at DD, and what are those hours?

I'm thinking of getting Q&C vouchers for our resort hopping day. We would probably use them at the Food & Fun Center at CR, or Gasparilla Grill & Games at GF. Which would you recommend, and will we have any problem using the vouchers either place?

One more question, for now. We will be at WDW Dec. 23rd to Jan. 2nd. Is there a blackout date on any of the vouchers?

Thanks again for all your help. :)

I went there with my husband and 2 kids last March. I bought 2 adult tickets and 1 kids ticket for RFC. The first time there we used 1 adult and 1 kids ticket. My husband and I each ate the main entree (He had steak and lobster and I had lobster). The kids used the appetizers for their meals (chicken fingers and calamari - my 3 year old loves calamari). For the drinks they let us get these giant icee's in these really cool about 2 feet tall glasses. So, each of the kids got one of those then we ordered 2 desserts and split. Since we still had one adult one left to use we went back again and my husband and I split the steak and lobster dinner (he ate the steak and I had the lobster). The kids shared chicken fingers from the appetizer and we ordered 2 more of the giant icee's (we bought one of them). Then all split a dessert. It worked out great and I would recommend these to everyone.

Does this mean I can disregard the kid's menu all together? You all have me very excited about this great deal. We have eaten at RFC at DD (3 times), AK, & Ft. Lauderdale. RFC wasn't one of the restaurants we had on our itinerary for Dec., but definitely is now. :) DH & DS will love the steak & lobster, and I'm more of an appetizer, & dessert kinda gal anyway. I know I'm being a pest, and talking to me may be like beating your head against a wall :sad2: , but please humor me just once more, and I promise not to ask again. :o Can DS order the steak & lobster with the child's voucher, or do I need to get 2 adult vouchers? Thanks again for all your patience. :)

Yes your ds should be able to order the surf & turf with the kids voucher. Just be aware occasionally there have been reports that a waiter wouldnt let the kid order off the adult menu but this has not happened to us. We have used vouchers 2 times there.
I would just have a back up order for you ds in that event. Try the Pita Quesadilla's they are so good.

Thanks for all your help, and the advanced warning. :) DH has decided that he would rather be safe and get the adult voucher for DS also, to make sure he's able to get the steak and lobster. After doing a search, and reading about some people having problems at DTD, we decided to go to the RFC at AK, even though the one at DTD would be more convenient. We made a PS for 6pm, on Jan. 1st. Will the time be okay? There's no black-out dates right? Thanks again. :)

We were at RFC last week and WERE allowed to order an adult meal with a child's voucher. We used one adult and one child voucher and fed two adults, a teen son who's a big eater, and two smaller boys. Our entrees were a surf and turf and some kind of steak/rib/shrimp combo that was very good.

We got an extra appetizer because we are Safari Club members. My 10yo ate the chicken appetizer and some fries as his meal. We had a bit of dinner food left over and absolutely no room left for the desserts, so we got them to go.

This was much better than the last time we went there and used two adult vouchers. The waitress never did get us all the food we were entitled to and overcharged us for a couple of extra items we ordered. I think a lot depends on the waitperson. We left the one last week a sizable extra tip as he was very good.

tarheelmjfan--just an FYI incase you might change your plans. You can only use the vouchers at AK location, not at the DtD one.

Thanks again for the great info. :) I'm glad I went ahead and booked a PS at the AK location. I'm still wanting to make sure that 6pm won't be too late, and also verify that there is no black-out dates on the vouchers.
