We're leaving bright and early tomorrow for 6 nights and 7 days at WDW. So excited...and a bit nervous! Just wanted to say THANKS :worship: for all the tips and advice I have gotten here as I have been planning and preparing. Thanks to you guys I:

  • have Teva sandals for me and DD
  • purchased photo mats for the characters to sign (cool tip)
  • have snacks/breakfast foods to bring with us and plan to purchase bottled water at the resort
  • have liquid soap for our resort bathroom and a "hanging shelf" for the closet to supplement the dresser space
  • ADRs and FPs are in order (including a KS FP for just the right sunset time)
  • Itinerary planned out, including morning rope drops (hopefully) and afternoon breaks
  • know how to get from MK to the Poly and MK to Chef Mickey's, good spots to watch Wishes and Illuminations, and how to get to EPCOT from DHS by boat
  • know some cool places to trade pins
  • learned about Sorcerors of the Magic Kingdom
  • know about the beignets at POFQ
  • have birthday decorations to decorate our room for DD's birthday
  • have several shiny items to trade with the Jawas
  • have completed online check-in and sent my room request fax (fingers crossed!)
and many more things that I'm sure I'm forgetting at this moment! These forums have been a great resource. Now I just need to know how to deal with NOT having a Disney trip to plan and look forward to when we return next week! But, I'll try not to think about that just yet... :mickeyjum

Have a blast! I find that the research also pays off on-site because you are now informed enough to make better decisions and changes to plans (gasp) on the fly. Smart decisions, and a lot less stress. Soak up the fun and memories!

This- have a fantastic time!

Turn off the stress now...trust me you can do it. Beer helps when you get back to the room exhausted. So do Mickey bars.

have fun on your trip

Have fun! :flower1:

Enjoy the magic!

Sounds like you have created a wonderful environment for the magic to happen!

Have a great time and make lots of memories!

Love this one since I've been reading today they've eliminated/cut way back on dressers at DCV locations (packing extra hangers too!!!):
  • have ... a "hanging shelf" for the closet to supplement the dresser space
But I've missed info on this one:
  • have several shiny items to trade with the Jawas
Can someone please explain?

I'm also bringing a hanging toiletry bag for the bathroom in case we're tight on space + an over the door hook (never travel without it!).
Have a great time!!! :mickeyjum[/QUOTE]

Have a great time, we are here now and the weather has been great!

The Jawa like shiny stuff, we brought glow sticks and they went crazy! They stole them from my kids and ran around the room beating them on things like they were drum sticks, even on my kids! When we got them calmed down they gave my kids droid parts for them.

Take your time and have fun. Don't stress if the itinerary does not go as planned. Take it all in.

We go quite often since we live very close. We always laugh at those families with the folder of things to do. Every hour is planned. Funny story, we were walking behind a family once and I guess they were headed for a restaurant/ride and their son who was about 7/8 had to use the bathroom(he must have eaten one of those turkey legs :crazy2:) . Mom slammed her binder shut and yelled at him in front of everyone that they have plans and he will have to just hold it. Felt bad for the kid.

If you're still reading, bring panchos and something to put over the feet if you can find it. Very rainy the last few days, and that would have saved some hassles we had Tuesday and Wednesday.

Also, not to spend your money, but the same-day ADRs for the Wishes desert party was very cool. And gave you a place to let the main street crowds dissipate while you have more ice cream.

Have a great time. We were there Wednesday, and it was a blast even with the heat and crowds and rain. Hope you do, too.
