Ready to book, a quick ? or 2

We are finally ready to book our Universal vacation and I have learned tons of useful info just from reading here. We are planning on staying at HRH in early June. If I decide to book through the HRH website, will I be able to make additional payments on the balance owed? When we went to Disney last year, we booked a room only reservation and were able to make additional payments on the balance. Is that possible at Universal too?

Also, I priced everything out for myself doing the room reservations and tickets separately. I then asked for a quote from a well-known travel agency on here for the same dates and options. The quote from the travel agency was more. It's only a $100 difference but a $100 is still a $100. I can't figure out what I could be missing for the extra $100. I added the tax for the room and the tax on the tickets. Any ideas?

It seems to be a common thread around here about travel agency quotes being higher. Not sure why, but it seems to be the norm

If you want to make payments to your room, you need to get the reservationist to give you the number of the accounting department. You just call them and they will help you with that.

Thanks for the info. I was just curious about making option of making payments. I think I'll skip the travel agent and just book everything on my own. I sent her an email asking her a couple of questions and in her reply, she didn't even answer all my questions. I found the answers here and I'd rather continue to ask all of you. I know I won't be led wrong.

i did the pre pay once for hrh.
i did the deposit at the time of booking.
then i did the monthly payments.

only problem, i would check the rates for the rooms as i used the aaa card for a discounted room.

rates dropped and i over paid on my account.

when you book and if you used a discount card, check the rates on occassion and if they have dropped, call and modify your room rate to the cheaper amount.

why pay more if you don't have to...
