I still have a little more than 10 months to go, but now that all the major vendors are booked I am working on the details.

What readings did you/are you doing for your ceremony?

Just trying to get ideas.

I am having an at home wedding, does the church give you a list or did you get to pick whatever you wanted?

For our "at home" VR: Our officiant, who is our son-in-law will incorporate I Corinthians 13 into the service. And my daughter, who is my Matron of Honor, will read the prayer of St. Francis.

We (as of now:rotfl: ) are doing:

The Apache Wedding Blessing
The Irish Wedding Blessing
and a reading from Jane Eyre

Lori

We used the blessing of the Apachee and one that someone suggested from Captain Corelli's Mandolin

Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.

ooooo I like that!! Thank you!!

Oh my god!!!!

I might have to switch one of mine to that...it's gorgeous!!!!

Thanks for posting it!!

The one from Jane Eyre is...

I have for the first time found what I can truly love-I have found you. You are my sympathy-my better self-my good angel-I am bound to you with a strong attachment. I think you good, gifted, lovely, a fervent, a solemn pasion is conceived in my heart; it leans to you, draws to you my centre and spring of life, wraps my existence about you-and, kindling in pure, powerful flame, fuses you and me in one.

But now I'm thinking that sounds like something we'd say to each other, not something that someone would read...

I'll have to show Eoghan the Corelli's Mandolin one and see what he says! :)

I'm glad ya'll like it...it was just so perfect for us and I just thought it was so pretty and I loved the visual you get.

For the reader's I got the Christmas ornaments from Day of Christmas and I kinda wish I got one for me too

That's a beautiful reading! A lot of websites of officiants have their different options for ceremonies. I have checked out my officiants (hopefully, I haven't booked him yet!) and picked and chosen things that I like.

I really like the Captain Correlli's one too :lovestruc

But how do you pronounce this? - Louis de Bernieres - just in case we decide to go for it! :lmao:
Is it loo-ee de burny-air?

I found one by Mark Twain which I thought would be fabulous given the Disney connection, but I can't remember what it was now, coz when I read it I found it very underwhelming, the only good part was the author!

That's how I say it but that doesn't mean I'm not wrong :rotfl: But I doubt anyone would notice, since it is so obscure
