Did that get your egotistical attention, my friend?
NicoleMarie: Real rednecks can live out west too. I still eat lunch at the Circle K. While I don't eat potato logs, I do eat Jo Jos and corn dogs. I've also been known to purchase a "burrito" or two.
I agree. But they probably weren't born there, nor have they spent the majority of their lives there. Plus, I will guess that you shout an involuntary redneck "whoo-hooooo...Yeeeeaah" when you hear the opening guitar chords to "Sweet Home Alabama". So that DEFINITELY makes you a redneck. Or a fan of the Tide. Or both.
Anywho.....this is still for you,
ZZUB.
I am a sap. My husband is a sap. Everyone in our family is a sap. So I can't let all the sap pass me by without adding to it. Even if I am a day late and a dollar short. What's new?
This is a strange journey for me. Like most of you, I always thought message boards and chatrooms were for losers who didn't have other means of social interaction. Anyone with half a life could never get caught up in that.
That was before the DIS. I came upon this website by means of a Google search of "Disney information" before our November trip to the World.
I found Trip Reports to be my source of the most information, and I devoured them as I planned our trip.
ZZUB, yours was the first. I loved it. I responded to it and anxiously awaited your installments. I felt like I knew you and your family. And I appreciated the kind of guy I could tell that you were. It was, and still is, an awesome report and I have a copy saved on my computer. If you'd like me to compensate you for that, just send me a bill. I'll be glad to send a check. It was worth it.
(Enter everyone else on the old ship)
After our November trip, the Disney bug had bitten us, and we were going for a full week at Spring Break. More trip reports to read. Vettechick, Mel, Lala...loved all of them.
Upon our return, I was inspired to write one myself. I love to write. I'm not as good at it as some, but I journal my life and the life of my kids, and a trip report just fits.
So I started writing. And all of you kind souls started encouraging me. ZZUB, Grammy, Horsegirl, Jamal, Pooh, Melons, GACat, Marky Mark...I'm sure I missed someone. (Not Mel, though - cause she never posted.

). Then someone posts they are "glad ZZUB sent them over" and I realize he has mentioned me on the Maelstrom.
At that point I felt connected in some way to some "cyberfriends". And the more time I spent writing my report, the more connected I felt to all of you.
I have said several times, my children's school mascot is the Vikings. So not a day goes by that my real world does not have a Viking reference. I fold a school shirt, look at a sign during carpool, see a teacher wearing the horned hat we all know and love, and I always think of ya'll. I really do care about you. That is from my heart.
I love getting a morning shout out from
Sher - a fellow early riser.
I love how
Horsey REALLY wants to make everyone's life happier.
I love that
Mel is so dadgum funny, but sweet at the same time.
I love that
LaLa knows what Ladies Love Cool James means. And that it appears Casting Crowns "Praise You in this Storm" ministers to her in the same way it does me. (
ZZUB, if you don't have their music - get it, now.)
I love that
Jami tries to figure a way to spend more time DISin when she should be working at home.
I love that
Grammy has tons of coffee mugs and even more varieties of coffee (so do I).
I love that
ZZUB could be the husband of one of my closest friends or my brother-in-law, both of whom are witty, southern attorneys who love their families.
I love that
Haley B and
Pooh have reeled their husbands into this bedlam.
I love that I could drive a few minutes tomorrow morning and hear
Marky Mark preach and meet
Rhonda, too. And
GaCat could join us for lunch.
I love that
JW took out some of his valuable time to help me into the coffee shop.
I love that
Chappie, Ed, Lou and Master G aren't afraid of all the crazy women.
I love that
Poly Jen shows no shame in her blatant striving for the perfect bod to go along with her vacation at the Poly.
I love that
YAK still subsribes to Southern Living even in Canada.
I love that
Mommy P homeschools her kids AND babysits for others.
I love that
Frick knows about the Big Chicken.
I love that
Tink has a shirt that she feels proud in.
I love that
Ashclan thinks I'm still young.
I love that
PongoJen can give purse advice.
I love that
KPK THINKS she is a mean momma.
Each and every one of you... I can't name you all. Though I'd love to try if I had time.
Every one of you have made my life richer. It is a joy to sign on each day and get a laugh, a gross picture, an 80's reference, a meloncholy moment of reflection, a song, a poem, a recap of prime-time television, a recipe I could cook from ingredients in the street, an encouraging word, congrats on an accomplishment...the list goes on.
This connection really is something special. Like LaLa, ZZUB, PMM and many others, I probably won't make the October meet. But, I too, will wait on the pictures and reports of that fine time and look forward to hearing all about it.
OK - this girl has given enough sap for the entire weekend. So sorry if anyone else had any. I've taken your space.
But thanks for everything. Friends.
