Since we're talking about food of the weird variety today - I thought I would add to the discussion and offer my most interesting of dishes.

It was at a thing in Savannah called the Hard Lox Cafe - put on by one of the Synagogues. It's a Jewish food festival. Pretty neat - except for this one dish that I tried just to say I did. Here's a recipe...

BEEF TONGUE

Tongue
Salted water
1 bay leaf
1 lg. or 2 sm. pieces of garlic

Soak tongue in heavily salted water a few hours. Then cover tongue with fresh water, 1 bay leaf, 1 large or 2 small pieces of garlic and cook until tongue is tender. Cool slightly and remove white coating from tongue. Slice and serve with mustard or horseradish sauce.

Gross, Mark. The grocery I used to go to in New Orleans catered to the rich Jewish ladies that lived in Lakeview (one of the worst hit areas by our lovely Katrina). Apparently tongue is a big thing among their religion. I'll have to research it. And no offense meant to any of the Jewish faith, BTW. I am merely making a guess.
Anyway, my gricery ALWAYS had sliced tongue in the deli. No, LaLa, I have never eaten it. So there.

I just went to drop off my DS7 at a birthday party...and decided to take my DS5 to eat Mexican. Half-way through my beef burrito, La-la's meat picture came to mind and no joke, my throat closed up (anyone else know that feeling?) and I turned green. I placed my napkin over my remaining burrito and could eat no more. Thanks Lala...usually I leave there stuffed, but not tonight. I guess that is good actually.

Just got the kiddos to bed.

DS sang you are my sunshine to me...it was too cute. ( I sing it to him when he wakes up in the morning.) He has some speech issues, that he is working on. One of them is in pronouncing his L's. They come out more like Y's. So LOVE comes out YOVE.

"You never know dear, how much I yove you, peas don't take my sunshine away!"





Then, I came downstairs, put on the TV and saw a commercial for this:

And, it made me think of ZZUB. Don't know why.

2. To qualify for the Free dining promo book your ressie must by June 4th and your arrival date must be on or before September 30th Although, I have heard of folks having problems trying to arrive on the 30th and not being able to get the free dining.

I called and booked last night, and the CM that I got said "Do you have a code for that?" when I asked about booking a trip for the Fall Free Dining Promo. He kept clicking around and finally came up with it... then we had lengthy discussion about why the price he quoted me was more than the Internet quote. We got that straightened out (sorry it's the accountant in me).

Finally, he did get it booked and, yes, it is with the Aug/Sep Dining Promo (per the internet ressie info page). We ARE arriving Sep 30.

So, I say just let the CM know what you know and they will figure it out! I read the internet quote page off to him...LOL Darn codes!

Ok, I know what you are thinking, why didn't you just book it that way to begin with... well, funny thing is, I wanted a human being to comfirm that it was with the FREE dining. So really, I ended up needing the internet to comfirm what the human told me.

My CM and I had a great time booking this trip, he was great. Though he kept making mistakes and I would correct him. It took us quite a while to find "lowest fare that doesn't have us leaving at dawn or arriving too late in the afternoon." He had a great attitude and now that I've been able to double-check the whole thing on the ressie page, it's all good!

He was actually quite amusing, making suggestions for dining with my hubby... like go to the CG and make a late ressie so you can watch Wishes... I said "wow what a great idea" and chuckled to myself.

Then I asked him about MNSSHP and then I said I couldn't go anyway because that day is my Epcot day (we are not buying hoppers), we are meeting up with a bunch of Vikings in Norway. He laughed.

well, enough rambling... hey I'm tired gimme a break.

You may want to consider getting a toaster oven instead of a toaster. You can do alot more with the toaster oven and it will do PopTarts alot better than the toaster

Must be in the air, ours burnt up the other day and hubby brought home a new 4-slicer today.

Here is the problem with that recipe, Marky, it lacks capers and lemony cream sauce... my favorite dish as a child, just stay away from the veiny part.
