He's at The Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. Not sure if they have high speed access there and the last time he DISed with dial up he fell asleep before the screen loaded.

Sounds like a lovely place. I hope he isn't allergic to flowers. But tell him to lay off the wine, and who is that woman? I am jealous.

SID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice to see you, babe. So sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope the colonoscopy goes okay (I've heard they're not that bad). You are too young for colitis! Maybe Crone's? Not that I want you to have anything, but, I've known lots of young people with Crone's. Hope Mama had a safe trip home.

Sher, guess reports of your demise were premature, huh? Happy to hear it!

Horsey, Pongo, Grammy, Haley, LOU, 'DOG, and Mr. Silly! So nice to see you all. And Kimmy, too! And whomever else I've missed. Where's Amy been lately? Is Mel really back today? Hope we see her soon. What about MommyP? That's been an awfully long beach trip, no?

I am off to the gym. To work off the 6 beers I imbibed yesterday afternoon. Already slept them off. Which I why I wasn't really around last night. I lurked, but was too tired to participate. Missed you guys, though.

Later gators.

Good morning all.

Sleepydog and Sher --- jeeez, you two. Enough already.

Lou -- looks like a nice place you left Maxbon. I hope you're having as nice a time in your search for ketchup! Daisy Hill Puppy Farm B&B

Good call, Mr. Silly. Pinata, yeah, that's the ticket!

Grammy and Shelby!!! I have been meaning to tell you both how nice your photos are. Nice to see you!!

Hi Brandt!

This place is deader than a disco playing jocko tunes....geesh.

Okay, so who would make this? And who would buy it?

I have absolutely no idea what I did to deserve this, but whatever it was, I take it back!!

Welcome back, Horsey. I just finished reading your mini trippie - I'm absolutely jealous. I've never been much of a lake girl, but then the ones in the Midwest aren't crystal clear, either. You have turned me around. I'm now trying to figure out how to get to northern Maine for vacation next summer!

Good morning all.

Sid - Sorry to hear of your troubles. My dad has had colon polops and they are supposedly hereditary, so mom wants me to have a colonoscopy too. I have, heretofore, staunchly refused. May even have a tatoo. Something that says, "Do not enter. One way traffic. Warning-Severe tire damage." Something along those lines. Hope it goes well for you.

LaLa - So I hear you left for good cause I admitted to calling you Layla. Some people are sooo sensitive. :teeth:

Sher - Nice to see you are back girl. So when can I expect my bottle in the mail?

Ok, gotta start working now...mourn me.

Good Morning Everybody, still haven't posted cruise photos and the phone company is keeping me busy with all the people on vacation I'm covering alot of territory so only time for some quick posts and reading. Evidently they dont know I have Shaolin training to attend and a Disney trip to plan.

One would need to provide one's address before one could receive mail goodies from moi. :teeth:

Hi all!

Been out of the loop for 4 days. No time to catch up on everything, either! I did read Horsey's trippie, though. I'm so jealous!!

We had a good trip to the lake. Though I think it was both muddier and warmer than Horsey's lake, and we did not have boat access. Wesley is now swimming like a fish... except that fish do not get...umm...rashes...from the between-the-legs strap that is part of the life vest. I don't think. My poor little Punky Poo was in a bad way last night. :guilty:

VBS starts tonight, so not much talk-y for the MarkyMarks this week. Well, maybe for Mark. Not for me. I need my rest after herding 4 year olds around for 3 hours!

Chris, glad you're not dead, despite Sid's attempts.

GA People, everyone ready for our little mini-meet in a couple of days??

Hugs, love and mushy stuff to all!

Rhonda :)

Hay Brandt, my pix weren't aimed at you baby. It was just dead last night and I was trying to draw out someone to play with. Very uninspiring welcome home for me let me tell ya!

Don't be jealous, cutie. The grass is always flippin' greener, you know? Come to Maine. It sounds like I need to submit this to a travel mag. We need more tourism here! And it is spectacular, truly. There are even some fancier digs if people don't want to rough it. And certainly less wild lake regions too, like Lake Sebago. That is further south, and very gentrified.... :teeth:

Happy Monday you Crazies!

LaLa...I'm going to miss you. But not really miss you. Because you are just kind of leaving. But not leaving, leaving.

Horsey! I so did love your lake TR. I'm still poppin pills over here trying to get through the day.

Grammy and Shelby! I love your pictures! Too cute!

Lou We want pictures from your trip! Donna! Cute Family!! Hope you all are having a great time!

SID I actually watched 3/4 of the video. I feel really lame now. Hope your lil tummy issues get better girl!

We traveled to the Huntsville Space Center in Alabama this weekend to show the boys some rockets and the space shuttle. It was pretty cool. I rode a ride called Space Shot that flung my fanny up in the air and then slammed me back down to Earth a few times. wicked. In the museum, our friends discovered a t.v monitor and buttons that worked a camera in a military robot around the corner. People didn't know they were on t.v. while they looked at the robot and it was so funny. I walked around the corner with my DS and showed him where he could be on camera. I let him ham it up for a minute and then I went and stuck my bootie right in front of the camera and proceeded to scratch it and dig for my undies as a little joke for my friends. I heard a huge roar of laughter and my DH came running over, laughing like crazy, to tell me our friends weren't the only ones watching...a huge crowd had gathered. oopsies.

Frickles Baby,
Been there, done that!! It's about 1 hour from our house! That place is fun. Yes, I have been flung, watched, and G-forced there, too.

I'm an innocent bystander. . .okay just bystander then. . .

My hopes exactly, Sid. Ash, it's the prep that gets you, not the actual procedure. I still hate ginger ale to this day. . .pirate: Ugh, aaargh. . .

Hi all. Been quite a week, let me tell you. The waters from the Great Flood have more or less receded, but we still have drying equipment in the house. Apparently, moisture got trapped between the hardwoods on the first floor and the subfloor, so they have set up this incredibly complex giant sucking contraption with all sorts of hoses and stuff to get the water out. Makes quite a racket. Not quite as loud as the racket our dishwasher made, however, as it gave up the ghost on Wednesday, after 14 years of hard work. We appreciate its years of service, and gave it a nice little pat on its way to the scrap heap (new dishwasher arrives today). Then, apparently, the garbage disposal was feeling a little piqued at missing out on all the attention, and began to cry (well, leak actually, because what we really needed in our house was yet more water). New garbage disposal arrives later this week. We're keeping a close eye on the refrigerator, as it seems to be the only major appliance that hasn't pitched a hissy fit lately. Matter of time, I'm sure.

Hope you are yours are safe and dry. Me and mine -- not so much, but we're getting there.

You are neither innocent nor a bystander. You are a fully active participant. And. You know it!!!! :teeth:

Uh, your description of the wine negates both these statements, and your affliliation with one sassy strommer solidifies kpk's request for me.....and despite the fact that I have no option other than to be a voyeur, I have to say I am enjoying all this immensely, here and over there..... :teeth:

Chappie, sounds like you should change your location. To, maybe... Home Depot? Yikes. Hope you get all dry, repaired or replaced soon.

More of my random recipes coming your way! Pongo, tell Tink, so she won't miss them!

Made these for our weekend away with friends. Consensus was, I should've made a triple batch (at least!!) of the spinach dip! I made a double batch of the hummus, which was also very good. But the spinach dip was amazing!! (Both are from the 12 Best Foods Cookbook by Dana Jacobi, I highly recommend this cookbook!!!)

Curried Spinach Dip

1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 vegetable boullion cube
2 tsps canola oil (I used olive)
1 small red onion, finely chopped
1 large clove garlic, finely chopped
1 10oz bag frozen spinach, defrosted, squeezed dry
2 tbsps light cream cheese
1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt
salt/freshly ground black pepper to taste

Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Dissolve the bouillon in 1/2 cup hot water and set aside.

Heat oil in medium skillet over med-hi heat. Saute onion until soft, about 4 minutes. Mix in garlic and continue cooking until onion starts to brown, about 3-4 minutes. Mix in spices.

Add spinach, pulling it apart with your fingers. Pour in the boullion. Simmer until spinach mixture is dry (5 minutes or so).

Remove from heat and mix in cream cheese and yogurt. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve warm, accompanied by pita chips or crackers.

Black Bean Hummus

15 oz can black beans, drained
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup soft silken tofu
2 tbsps tahini
1 tsp cumin
1 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 tbsps lime juice
salt/pepper

Process all ingredients in food processor. (Season to taste with s/p.) Serve in a bowl, garnished with a sprinkle of sweet paprika.

What sort of stupid thread is this?

Why is it still going?

It's got almost 100,000 views on it.

That's embarrassing.

Sooooooooooo... what's new? Anything? I miss?

Heh, heh.

Tell MasterG he's gonna be in a world of hurt.

I gotta go and help Lil' Grumpy unpack from our camping trip. It was great fun. Everyone survived.

Mel.

The hunted.
