Reading List - Did you read it?

I have ordered some of the books Disney recommended for our upcoming Southwest Splendors trip, mostly from used booksellers or the library. Does Disney do this for all the ABDs? Do you guys love the reading material? I am looking forward to using the Field Guide, and I hope the children enjoy the mystery book and the nature books.

I've never gotten a reading list from ABD. Is that something new this year? Although I didn't get a reading list for my ABD/DCL Med cruise, but seeing how new that is, they might not have had one yet. That's very interesting...

Enjoy Southwest Splendors! It's a FABULOUS trip!!!

Sayhello

We ordered a couple of the books listed for the Backstage Magic Tour we're taking in August. It's been interesting reading and I think it's helped us prep our son for our trip and what he's going to see.

For our Germany trip, my daughter and I read a lot of Grimm's fairy tales. They were very interesting. They were not the Disney versions we are all familiar with. For South Africa, I read Nelson Mandela's autobiography. It was worth having the background before we went. I don't actually remember getting a suggested reading list, but those seemed like a good idea. Of course we also had tour books like frommers.

We never got a reading list either - what a good idea. For our Viva trip we did read a lot of books on Italy, including a great series for kids (historical fiction). It was harder to find books for the Southwest trip.

I'm so glad to hear they've added a reading list! This was one of my suggestions on my feedback survey. We had a reading list attached to a tour we took in Paris and it was great. I did my own research for books for Southwest Splendors before we went last year, and DD got much more out of the trip due to the books she read. I'm sure I'm not the only one who made this suggestion, but it is nice to know they are listening in general, and trying to improve the experience even more.

Is the list on the website or did they send it to you? I'd love to know if any of the titles I gave them made it on the SWS list!

glassslipper, what was the series? DD loves historical fiction and I'm always trying to find something for her.

I got a reading list for the Emerald Isle this year. I usually do some reading before I leave for any trip so I think this is a nice addition. I don't remember if we got one for Germany in 2008.

I've seen many reading lists. And enjoyed everything suggested!

They are under trip tips, for each individual trip, on the ABD website.
