Just read that when the new Kidani village opens at AKL it will be possible to get a bus between the new part and the main Jambo house, it also says that there will be a sidewalk for people who want to walk between the buildings. However, it posts the warning that this walk is not an easy walk as it is (are you ready for this?) half a mile!! :faint: :faint: :faint:

Shock, horror, a whole half-mile walk!! :rotfl2:

that may be wayyyy too much for some peopl1 ;)

Looking at how people gripe on some boards at the distances at some of the resorts it doesn't surprise me at all!

Funny!!
It reminds me of the comments I have heard when I comment that we prefer to walk from the Beach Club Villas where we stay to the Studios which is a really nice 1.2 mile walk at the side of the canal. Seriously, we can walk it quicker than what it takes to boat to get there!!

weve stayed at SSR many times and while in pool some folks have winged about how long buses took to get there from downtown disney.

I suppose if someone has mobility problems then maybe (but then I would imagine they'd have a wheelchair or scooter) but for an able-bodied person that's a bit daft considering how far you walk in the parks!

:lmao: That's funny, but I have to say it doesn't suprise me! :car:

Half a mile is a long way in a Florida rainstorm, or in the heat of the midday sun. I would expect park buses to pick up & drop off at both locations and that there to be some kind of bus shuttle.

Oh no - i have just been out with my dogs for a 10 mile walk - that means it was 9 and a half miles too much:rotfl:

DH, & friend we're travelling with, like to go for a run in the morning. Been trying to convince him that there's no where at AKL to run. Thought I'd just found it-don't think they'll be impressed though:rotfl2:

Mind you don't advertise to our two teenages it's half a mile walk - they struggle to get off the couch:rolleyes1

It doesn't surprise me. When I was looking to book SSR and deciding which area to book, a lot of people complained about the walk from Congress Park to the Hospitality House. We walked it loads of times and it wook us about 10mins at the most, and that was with a 2 year old in a buggy.

I was going to say the same thing as Andew. I walk at least 6 miles a day to work daily and am used to walking, but could not believe how hard it was to walk when we went to WDW in August 2007. The humidity was unbearable and I had just got over the flu and found it a real stuggle to walk anywhere let alone our usual walk from SSR to DTD or crossroads.

It was eye-opener for me as walking plays a very big part in all my holidays as we do like a drink or too!!!

There is short cut, but you might have to run all the way, because it involves crossing the lion enclosure!

When we were staying at a hotel in LBV we often walked to/from DTD. We regularly got funny looks from folks driving by us but if we told anyone we walked there - the comments were sometimes hilarious! :rotfl2:
