It is more and more apparent that new DISers do not recognize the need to read the How To sticky before they post a request. :confused3

And note that each DISigner wants their requests in a specific format. Pay attention to thread titles and post #1 on each thread please!

Above all else, do not under any circumstances post the same request more than once.

DISigners are fed up with being asked to create something that another DISigner has already worked on or is being asked to do. :furious:

If you start a thread please stick with it until you get your responses.

Also, decide before you ask for something how you want it. We are busy people (with an actual life outside the forum) and do not have time to make you variations simply because you can't make up your mind. (or provide enough details up front)

And wait for a firm date and time before you ask for invitations.

"I didn't know" or "I am new" are generally not valid "excuses". The rules are out there so please save us time by checking them. I have LOTS of first time posters who comply with all the rules after all....

Keep your DISigners happy so they don't abandon ship out of frustration!

Amen Marion!!.......couldn't have said it better myself......I have been having a lot of frustration with these same things making me not want to disign anymore :(

Totally agree with both of you. It's pretty disappointing to see the multiple requests on our threads.:confused3

Another important notice to newer DISers making requests.....if someone starts a thread and a DISigner responds with a DISign that the thread owner likes, please put any follow up requests in the DISigner's own thread....

Do not post to the original thread that is more or less wrapped up. You may never see your DISign created. I know I rarely revisit a thread that I think is completed!

and as always, no quotes of my posts...

Thank you so much for posting this. I have never been on any kind of forum before. I appreciate you sharing your frustration so that I can learn from it. I totally felt overwhelmed when I first started looking at all these threads. You are very patient to deal with newbies like me. I sincerely meant no offense if I have commited one of these faux pas. Don't get discouraged! :) :) :) We idiots appreciate you!

the How To sticky at the top of the forum indicates the general procedures for making a request and I believe indicates no multiple requests there....many people don't notice this sticky and the general rules go unread....

Once again thank you for dealing with us. I think it is truly awesome that you put so much effort into amazing designs and helping people out. Is it ok to ask for different items from multiple people or should you provide a list of items and see if one DISigner can do them all? I am so sorry if this is a dumb question. I really am trying to learn a keep up with everyone. My head is spinning.:upsidedow

You may ask as many DISigners to help you as you want. Just make sure you don't ask for the same thing from different DISigners. So, if you like RustManFan's invitation to Be Our Guest and Absolut_Mandy's invitation to Cinderella's Royal Table go to their threads and ask. If you really don't care who makes what, then start your own thread. The main thing to remember is do not post 2 requests that are the same. We don't want anyone wasting their time. I hope this makes sense. Eventually, your head will quit spinning. :goodvibes

Besides the How To sticky there is a new one that ALL REQUESTERS should read.... "Creative Boards Welcome (and some rules)"

It is extremely evident that many many DISers are ignoring these 2 stickys and the rules included. :scared1:

It is also extremely evident that many DISers are ignoring rules posted in individual DISigner's threads.

Not to be aware of forum rules is frustrating to DISigners and particularly to this Moderator.

Again, it is evident that many are not bothering to use the resources available to help understand how to ask for a request and how to comply with forum rules.

My reminders are constant!

Duplicate requests, for example, will be deleted if I spot them....

Maybe you should Sticky this too Marion?:goodvibes This is so frustrating to me also....and all others too I'm sure! I want to keep Disigning but not if people are going to be wasting my time and other's as well!! :( :( :(

nothing here is new....all is either in How To sticky or Creative Boards welcome sticky....

what more can we possibly do to get people to assist us? why do I have to keep asking people to provide details instead of something like "can someone do an autograph cover?" why do we have to draw the requirements from someone requesting?

why do people select one of my 8 x 8 square autograph covers and decide that one is perfect to be a 4x6? doesn't make sense to me!

why do people not save or bookmark an image they like? why are we constantly being asked to find some image "they saw?"

why do people tell me how much they love one of my DISigns and then want to change the colors, the characters, the text and the font? doesn't really leave much of my creation, does it? :rotfl2:

why oh why does it seem like many people cannot read past the few lines that might be in a text message?

I figured out Photobucket and the forum on my own. why do so many people want to be spoon-fed everything and not bother with provided instructions?

done venting for now but sure there is more frustration to come... :crazy2:

But before I go, I want to point out that the vast majority of our DISers are doing everything right. They are providing details they are looking for....they are being patient and understanding that we have other things in our lives to deal with...they are thankful and complementary of our work and creativity...and they are not selling our DISigns or pinning. :wave2:

To all of you, thank you, thank you, thank you...from the bottom of my heart!! :worship:

Important note to those wanting to look in Photobucket accounts:

Photobucket has once again changed its layout. On left hand side of DISigner's PB you will see a button to either Show or Hide albums. Default seems to be Hide

thanks for reading!

I'm getting frustrated again as many of you are ignoring the rules....

Here is one that I am really getting annoyed about...

* If you see a DISign you like either save it or bookmark (favorite) it. Too many people are asking DISers to help them locate a DISign that they previously saw....and more often than not the description is very vague.

DISigners want to DISign and help make as many trips/events special as possible. It is NOT our job to figure out what you saw "a few days ago".

Try the Advanced Search feature (under Search). Learn to use it to locate one of your own previous posts, posts or threads by a specific user, or location of an image by keyword search. You select to search either threads or posts for the keyword(s). Also can search with date ranges...

Be reasonable re: what you search for as some words are too generic. Mickey? Princess? please no!! :sad2: Skellington? yes Invite? impossible :sad1: as there are too many threads/posts but Cellier would work!

Be sure you are searching the Creative Boards forum and not the entire DISBOARDS. :coffee:

How to and Creative Board Welcome are at the top of the forum as a sticky always is! :)

I have posted a new rule in the Creative Boards Welcome sticky after seeing some enormous listings of requests by some DISers.

* Be reasonable about how many requests you post for an individual DISigner. If your list is long I suggest you ask a DISigner for images that merely require personalization but start your own thread for any DISign that is new. The same DISigner may very well respond but you haven't pressured them (time wise) with a long long list.

Thank you for being considerate!!

Most DISigns have images/graphics that are copyrighted by Disney and are utilized here for personal use only. You are expected to create your items yourself and not ask an outside party to violate Disney copyrights by making a profit from the DISigns that we create for free.

Here is text from Vistaprint site, for example, and you should not expect similar sites to violate copyrights...."You agree that you will not include any text, image, design, trademark, service mark, or any copyrighted work of any third party in your Products unless you have obtained the appropriate authorizations from the owners. You warrant that your Products do not infringe upon any rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy, and will not libel or defame any third party, and that you have all required rights or permissions necessary to incorporate third party material into your Products. By placing an order on this Site, you warrant that you have all necessary permission, right and authority to place the order and you authorize Vistaprint to produce the Products on your behalf."

I am fearful that sites to which images are uploaded may utilize a DISigner's image to make a profit.....clearly not what any DISigner anticipated.

I, for one, expect my DISigns to be used on items created by the DISer that made the request and NOT by an outside party. A friend or family member is ok but absolutely no party that makes a profit from the creation of the item....being autograph book, T shirt or anything else.

I thank you for your anticipated cooperation!

Most rules posted to the sticky rule threads have been violated in the last 2 days! Also my personal rules...

Please understand that we want to DISign but want to do so without the frustration of rule violations or constantly reminding DISers about the stickys and about the rules.

Your compliance is very much appreciated!!

any duplicate request thread will going forward have the title changed to "Please ignore this duplicate request" and I will close one of the threads that is in violation of forum rules. :)

DISigners, and only DISigners, can PM me to point out duplicates that they spot so I can take care of them.....good to be a Moderator!! :wizard:

Please please PLEASE include the date(s) of your trip or event in your request. :thumbsup2

When I work on requests with 0 responses I generally do those that are coming up and often, unfortunately for you, must ignore the ones without dates. This is so I can complete requests on my threads and the open threads and try not to miss anyone. :crazy2:

Another thing you should know.....Photobucket allows DISigners to post thumbnails or a larger image. I read up on this and it is important to note that this is NOT the full resolution image even if it looks like it....only way to get full resolution image is to download it from PB.

Do not right click and select Save As or you will get a reduced size and reduced resolution image. When you think a DISign is blurry, you are not looking at the full resolution image.

Again, DOWNLOAD from PB....do not right click on image on a thread or the image in PB and expect to see the hard work that the DISigner put into creating your image(s).
