Read something interesting - Character signing at Guest Services

Planing for my April Disney cruise and came upon a moms blog 15 things to pack for a Disney cruise link can be found here http://harvardhomemaker.com/a-moms-guide-15-things-to-pack-for-a-disney-cruise/

The interesting part was #12 if you drop off something at guest services they can have the character's sign it and return it back to your cabin before the trip ends. Has anyone heard of this or done this.
