Beginning Sunday, April 2, 2006, there will be new requirements for creating threads on the DVC-Rent/Trade board. Basically there are 3 new requirements:
1. All threads must have one of eight (8) defined Lead-In text expressions in the thread title.
2. A thread originator must keep their thread 'active' by performing a 'bump' on it on a weekly basis.
3. When a thread originator no longer wants to keep their thread active, they must 'close' it, by editing it's title.
You can review the full requirements HERE
There have also been some changes in the general posting requirements. You should review those requirements HERE
Beginning April 2nd, all NEW threads must conform to the new title requirements. During the transition period, any NEW thread which does not meet title requirements will be locked.
Beginning April 9th, all NEW threads which do not meet the title requirements will no longer be locked, but will be DELETED, without notice.
Old threads will have a 1-week grace period and will be allowed to remain for one week. An OLD thread is defined as any thread with an initial posting of April 1, 2006 or earlier. Any old threads not retitled and bumped (or closed) by April 9th, will be locked or deleted.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the OP of a thread responds to an old thread during the week, thus pushing the thread to the top of the page, they must also re-title the thread as part of their response. Failure to do so will result in the thread being locked from all further responses.
If an old thread is bumped to the top of the list because someone other than the OP responded to it, then the OP has 24 hours after that to retitle the thread, or it will be locked.
Users are encouraged to make the required title changes now. Many of you are regular posters to this board and we're sure you'll adjust to these changes easily.
Keeping threads active or closed will make it easier for all who use this board. No one likes it when someone posts and then completely forgets about it while others continue to respond week after week, never getting an answer.
The new lead-in text required in the titles will help both users and moderators keep track of the posts and category type, and will be especially useful for those users who like to sort threads by title.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
