Need opinions about the iron situation on the boat. Heard that they may destroy your clothing and that there are not that many to go around and that you have to use them inthe landry room. Is all this true?

Yes you have to use them in the laundry room. There is only one in each laundry room and it is attached to the wall. As for ruining your clothes, the one I used did just fine. It was clean and worked properly.

On our first cruise I waited for oven an hour while some woman ironed what seemed like every peice of clothing her family bought. I only had my husbands white shirt that I wanted to iron for dinner. When I finally got the iron I stroked it down one sleeve and it left a black mark down the entire sleeve!!!!!!! Needless to say we spent that week in wrinkled clothing.

On our next cruise I brought our own and used it in our stateroom.

Personally I bring my "Wonder" steamer. It takes water and a smidgen of salt. I pack the salt in a little tupperware container and all of it in a ziplock bag. It is so small and has no heating element in it and bought it from an infomercial from t.v. for $20 It is the best, you can steam wrinkles out while they are hanging on the hanger. What I suggest is get your husband's shirts done at the cleaners for $1.50 per shirt. Keep them in the cleaner plastic bag on the hanger and they should not be wrinkled when you unpack them. That is what we do. DH puts them in the hanging bag and every article that is in there is covered in plastic bag and none needed to be ironed. Also, roll your clothes in the suit case roll them like a sleeping bag and no wrinkles there either. Just some suggestions.

We, too, took a small portable steamer with us and used that to take the few wrinkles out of our formal clothes. We had hubby's suit and 2 shirts, plus my dress and slacks outfit in a garment bag but they did need "touching up" once we got on board the ship. I didn't think about covering them in plastic bags from the cleaners, will do that next time so maybe we won't even need to unpack the steamer that way!! :D

Try Downey Wrinlke Releaser. I read about it here, and brought it on my last WDW trip. It was amazing!
