Reactivating DAS - how complicated

My daughter had DAS for the first time on our Christmas trip, and it was amazing. I was worried about being able to explain her needs, but the CM was great and we had no problem getting it.

(Kiddo has a moderate-severe hearing loss and is very sound-sensitive in noisy environments like the PoC line--kids screaming to hear the echo, etc.)

We're going back this summer, and now I'm keyed up again about having an understanding CM. After seeing how much better kiddo handled rides without having to deal with the sound insanity of the enclosed queue lines, I really want her to continue to be able to enjoy the parks.

Once you've had DAS, is the reactivation process easier/quicker? Do I still need to plan a full explanation to the CM? Am I stressing for no reason?

You've done it once before, you can do it again. It should be quicker, as the DAS is in the system.

BTW, I'd suggest bringing noise cancelling headphones - there are some great standby queues that have fun interactive stuff she might want to try - SDMT, PPF, etc. The BTMRR one is all based on noises though - explosions, so skip that. That attraction is pretty loud to begin with, (especially the opening cave) so I'm guessing she can't handle it anyways.

She covers her hearing aid to try to mute the noise/avoid the spray for the first part of BTMRR. she was in love with the coaster before her hearing loss and can tolerate the noise for the short time.

Thanks for the headphone idea. Not sure how well it would work, with a behind the ear hearing aid, but definitely something we can look in to. (She's supposed to wear her HA morning-night).

You would not want noise cancelling headphones at any rate. Those are really designed to cancel outside noises so that music being listened to is more easily heard.
The type of headphones that are most effective (and much less expensive) are sound deadening. These are very popular. I am not sure if they would fit over a behind the ear hearing aid either. They might not fit at all, might press it uncomfortably or move it out of place.

Most people find the DAS renewal process very easy and fast. Occasionally, the picture gets lost and needs to be retaken. You may be asked a few questions - mostly whether the needs have changed, but since she has had DAS before, it will be relatively clear cut.

I have gotten a new DAS card probably 12 times and most of the time I just say I need to renew my DAS card and they are fine with that I have had maybe 2x the CM ask why I need one
