"Reach for the sky!" We're finally getting there in JAN 2012!!!TR LINK PG 69!

I think I'm pretty much all caught up with your PTR. I enjoy reading it, and the photos too!
We did a Disney Day here when we were 200 days out. It also happened to be a Saturday that dh was off. We started the day with Mickey shaped pancakes, and used our resort mugs from our '09 trip for our drinks. The kids dressed in their Mickey shirts and we huddled up on the couch and watched the videos we took on our trip. After that we played a question and answer game. I made up this game to get some information out of them for planning this trip as they don't know about it yet. It went over well, they had fun and I learned a lot ;) We had homemade pizza for supper with mickey shapes made out of the toppings, then we watched 'Tangled'.
I see we will be at the same park on two different dates during our trips.....you'll have to wait until I get that far in my PTR to find out which ones:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

You are totally holding out on me!! I'll be excited to hear which days are the same during our trip! :thumbsup2

We interrupt this PTR to post a picture for Stephanie! This is my attempt at the 11 step Epcot plan, which I failed at in the first country we got to! Rey didn't like the margarita's, so he gave me his! I drank them both, but by the looks of the picture, they were somehow already hitting me b/c as you can see, I had already spilled some of them down my shirt! :lmao:

Apparently this is why I've never properly seen World Showcase! I'm too preoccupied with the drinks! :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing Karen! That is an EPIC picture! I think I will have to try a margarita in mexico while I am there! :lmao:

Yes, my suggestion would be to have ONE in Mexico...not two!

Another ADR morning today! This time I set the alarm just in case! ;) This one was important b/c it was Rey's first and most adamant request! Crystal Palace! I find this so amusing, but he LOVED CP when we went in 2009, and it was so funny to see him light up around the pooh characters! Here's one of my favorite shots, some of you have seen it before:

WDW2009315a.jpg

Savannah loved it as well and is VERY excited for Leslee to meet the characters! (although Leslee is most excited about Thumper and Stitch!)
This was actually Savannah's 9th birthday and our first day at WDW in 2009!

So, I got the ADR! 8:10am we'll have our breakfast at CP on our full MK day, we should be finished up right around rope drop and in time for the dumbo-dash! ;)

Good idea setting the alarm just in case! You can't go messing up Rey's request! ;)

We are planning to do CP for our trip as well, but for lunch. I have never done a character meal (except when I was a kid and I don't remember much). What is the average time you spend at a character meal? 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours??? :confused3 I have read a few different things, but it's always better hearing it straight from someone that has experienced them.

Well, I think CP doesn't take as long as some character meals b/c it's a buffet. Since there's no waiting for food like at a regular restaurant, I think an hour is about the average. We spent about that long last time, actually a little less b/c I was watching the clock for RD and only missed it b/c FIL went to the bathroom, so it took us about 45 minutes for breakfast at CP. When we went to Chef Mickey's it took longer, but that's b/c we ordered a cake and it took forever for them to finally bring it out!

Your ADR for Crystal Palace is at the perfect time! :thumbsup2 I'm so glad you got what you wanted! As for that picture - it is awesome! I've wanted to try a margarita and a Grey Goose slushy, so my EP day might be the one day I'll have to break down and take the buses since it looks like those drinks are pretty strong :lmao:

Hi! I came here because of your drunken post on Stephanie's PTR. I thought I had quoted the post you made of your boys in the tie-dye Mickey shirts. Can you show me how to do that? I've seen others post those from time to time but your Mickey heads are perfect!

I'm working on getting a bunch of gift cards for restaurants, etc. for the trip. I've been doing this for quite a few months through MyPoints. It's a site where you just click through to their merchants (lots of known ones like Target, Walmart, Kohls, Old Navy, etc.) when you are going to buy something online and you get points for it. You can then redeem the points for gift cards to stores & restaurants! I already have enough points for $125 of Rainforest Cafe cards, so our meal at DTD is covered!

I've been doing MyPoints since 1998! It was the very first thing I ever signed up for with our brand new Internet connection. After I signed up I had a panic attack. I couldn't believe I had given some company I never heard of my Name and address. And my birthday!!!!! Turns out to be one of the best things I ever did on the computer. Other than winning our last trip to WDW of course.

Honestly, I don't know if they'll give her any money at all. They have told her she needs to save money for the trip, and they are having her do work/chores this summer for grandparents, etc. but I believe this is for her actual ticket/food money, so I'm not sure she'll have any souvenir money! We'll have to see how it works out. I do know that if she comes with no money for souvenirs, I will HAVE to get her a few things. It's just not right to go to WDW and not come home with something to remember the trip! Yes...I'm sick.

I totally agree. I couldn't take someone's kid with me and let them come back without a single souvenir. Sure they get to go to Disney but those souvenirs can really bring back happy memories and isn't that what it's all about?

DISNEY DAY!!!!!! Ok, so I told you a few weeks ago that it was a ride, and none of you guessed correctly, but I did get some really good ideas from all of you! :thumbsup2 Now, you might have thought about what ride I would love to do a disney day around, that MIGHT have given you a clue! Anyone remember my favorite ride???
.
.
Expedition Everest!!!

Shoot! I was totally going to guess that! Didn't get here in time. I was really looking forward to those bragging rights. :rotfl:

Really love the prayer flags!

I've been pouting and not coming to the Dis but I had to come and see your post for our EE day. Kya loves her prayer flags!

Sorry Hope. I get where you're coming from. I've made some good friends on here but didn't really come on for a few years because it was just too depressing not having a trip planned. But I know you've got some things coming up so think of those happy thoughts.

Yep, that's the one.

:lmao: I crack up every time I look at that pic! I'm glad my drunkeness brought you here! :rotfl:

Welcome to my crazy PTR!!! :cool1: I LOVE Mypoints and wish I had known about it long ago. I've been doing it since September or so and I already have a full meal at RFC with gift cards free and 25$ for Subway on our way down. I'm sure I'll get some more before the trip as well! Only time I don't use it is when I use Amazon...which unfortunately, is a lot! Wish they gave points for those!

Congrats on getting your ADR for CP. We have one for 8:05am, but it's on the day that we're at MK together ;)
Of course our days are only the same if yours didn't change from when you posted your itinerary....have you figured it out yet?!:rotfl2:

Sorry, I meant it's NOT on the day that we're both at MK :( Would have been neat though wouldn't it have?! The day we're both at MK you're doing the 5K, and we're not at CP until a week later.

That would have been cool, but I still think it's neat that we'll be in the same parks on a couple days! :thumbsup2

Karen, love the shirts - those are so darn cute!!!! i can't wait to see pics of you guys wearing them after the 5K!

your EE dinner was so creative too. the idea of the prayer flags is just so creative and they did an awesome job with them. and what kid (or adult for that matter) wouldn't love some ice cream cone mountains? :thumbsup2

congrats on the ADRs, sorry about the hiccup with RFC, but glad you are getting everything else you want so far. i am getting nervous about making mine- i really hope i get what i want- i am pretty picky about a few of my times (pre park opening breakfasts and O'hana before MNSSHP). i don't make mine until the 17th though. you are giving me hope! lol:wizard:

oh and the drunk pic- LOVE IT- i had already come over frmo her TR to see it. i mean, at least you were having a good time, right? believe me, i have seen a lot worse at disney. Even last trip, we were walking from the BW area to the INTL gateway at Epcot and saw this guy stumbling walking towards ESPN, he could barely stand up, much less walk. it was pretty pathetic. lol!~

I'm such a slacker! I actually woke up 15 minutes late this morning and didn't even jump out of bed this time! I only had one ADR to make, House of Blues, and I wasn't really too concerned that they would all be taken on a Wednesday night...I was right! Got my ADR for the time I wanted! This will be a fun dinner, my 15(soon to be 16 this summer!) son plays the guitar and will really enjoy this restaurant, I think. AND, I got a restaurant.com coupon for $50 off $100, so we'll get a half-price meal! :thumbsup2

We can't avoid Disney, even if we try! Today Savannah went to one of her close friend's birthday parties. The theme, was Alice in Wonderland! It was just 4 of our girls and they all dressed up and the party was a big hit! My friend, Trisha, really knows how to throw a party, I might have eaten the whole table if I hadn't been careful!

They decorated outside and the girls sat out there for lunch

They came inside to a table covered in candy & sweets!

Oh and I promised Savannah I would post a picture of the kitty that was there, it was the birthday girl's grandparents and just visiting for the day. She liked Savannah's shoes.

They did some other fun stuff (Hope got pics, maybe she will post some) but I had to leave for a couple hours to petsit, so I missed the rest!
