"Reach for the sky!" We're finally getting there in JAN 2012!!!TR LINK PG 69!

Great new title:thumbsup2 Congrats on getting some money paid on your trip, every bit helps:)
Don't think of it as putting off your trip, think of it as extending the planning, after all....planning is half the fun;)

Love that your hubby wants to take $1,000 for souvenirs. My husband loves going to WDW but his dream trip includes coming home with NO souvenirs. :scared1: He'll just have to close his eyes and keep dreaming though. Other than food I think we spend less than $200 on souvenirs depending on if the kids are taking their own money. Then all bets are off. I would never expect to not let them get a single thing.

I cannot imagine spending so much on souvenirs, but it will be fun to see how much he really does purchase. He was ALL OVER the shopping when we were in WDW, it was hilarious!

Thanks! I agree, but I do question what on earth I'm going to do when I finally plan a trip that happens and I get there! But we know what I'll do...I'll plan another! :lmao:

When you get there you'll be in such awe that all your planning finally paid off that you'll be stoked to plan the next one as soon as you get back, if not before;)

Time for another Disney Day!!! :thumbsup2

Hope & I wanted to get together and talk about my 40th bday trip in Feb. 2013, so we had a Disney Day! YES, we planned a year and a half ahead...did you expect any less? More on that later...

We decided on The Parent Trap and it ended up being a great theme! We decided to separate the table, one side for the British side, one for the Vineyard (to represent where the girls grew up separately) and then in the middle, CAMP, where the girls came together and met for the first time!

On the British side, we had cucumber sandwiches and decorations.

on the other side we had the vineyard/ranch stuff (and what a PERFECT theme for us! We drank wine and talked Disney all afternoon!

In the middle we had where the sisters met and realized they were twins...camp! Savannah told me that when they realized they were sisters, it was a scene where they were both eating oreo's and realized they both liked to dip them in peanut butter. Of course she would remember this detail from the movie! :p We also had S'mores fixings!

While Hope and I were planning, the girls went outside to make S'mores. They ended up getting hot and putting out the fire AND themselves, apparently, so when they came in, they were a little wet!

They had sparkling grape juice

and then both tried oreo's dipped in PB! Savannah even tried the cucumber sandwiches, but I think she took the cucumbers off! :lmao:

As for the Disney planning, you'll have to wait just a bit for that! In fact, I think I'll let Hope update our joint PTR with those plans since that's where they should be! All I can say is that we are the perfect match, we spent a couple hours and now know exactly what our trip will cost, what parks we are going to, and what restaurants we are eating at a year and a half in advance! :rotfl2:

Thanks Julie! I'm pretty happy with the 2012 plan we have going on! Your trip is coming up so soon!

AWESOME :thumbsup2 I love the Disney days that you and Hope come up w/ and a Parent Trap Theme...love that movie...but the orginal Hayley Mills is way better...sorry ;)

great table setting...I may have to borrow this idea :thumbsup2

love that you are planning a 40th b-day trip...I have one to plan the year later in August of 2014 :woohoo:

Awesome Disney day:thumbsup2 I love cucumber sandwiches, now I want one!:rotfl:
It's great that you got some planning done for your trip, even if it is a year and a half away!

What a great movie day! I like how you divided the table like that. I'm looking forward to reading the 2013 trip plans. Now, Oreos dipped in peanut butter... hmm... at first I thought that would be gross, but then I realized it's like a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup - but with the bonus of cream filling! :rotfl:

Subscribing! I ran across you PTR and am loving your planning.....can't wait to see what your announcement is!

Yay! I love new readers! It's a rollercoaster, so hang on tight!!! I'm bursting to announce, but I need it to be official, so you will all have to wait just a bit longer!!!!!!!!!

You professional PTR/TR writers and your cliffhangers!!!! Is there a shaking fist smiley? :rotfl:

Ok folks! Are you ready?!?!?!?!?! ;)

Remember back when I posted this sad bit of news? Darn IRS!

Big blip in my Disney planning, thanks to the IRS who gave us a little less than half of what we were supposed to get for our amended taxes and forced me to spend my whole Disney savings on this beauty?

durango006.jpg

Well, yesterday I opened the mailbox to find a CHECK! I cried when I opened it, stared in disbelief, and called Rey (who I had to quickly reassure that nothing bad was happening b/c I was crying!) That's right folks! There, in my hand, was the other half of the money that should have paid for the Durnago...in other words...it was my Disney money refunded! (and then some!) :woohoo:

After a 47 minute wait on hold with the IRS, I confirmed that this was not a mistake and jumped in the car heading straight to the bank!

Imagine my surprise and last night when I went to pay nearly all my balance and I couldn't! Have no fear! Apparently the bank only allows $1000 a day on our debit card, so a call this morning opened it up and I paid nearly ALL of our trip off! I only owe $600 left on the whole trip!!! Room, tickets, and FREE DINING!!!!! I can't even find a smiley to put here to express THAT feeling...is there one that laughs and cries at the same time?!?!?!?

WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD AT THE END OF JANUARY!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!! party:

I can't quite believe it yet, it hasn't totally sunk in, but I'm on cloud nine right now! :cloud9:

OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! OMG!!!! OH, KAREN ---- THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN A PREGNANCY!!!!:cool1: :dance3: :yay:  :worship: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2:

She will be announcing that she is PREGNANT!!!! :lmao:

My mom used to always guess that people were pregnant anytime they said something like "Guess what?" It was always funny when she was right even though they would be disappointed that she had ruined their surprise.:rotfl:

Congrats on the check Karen! Here's to much less stress for the next several months. :drinking1

That is such wonderful news!!!!:cool1: I am so happy for you!!!:woohoo:
That is a lot of stress off of your shoulders and now you can really get into your planning and enjoy it, knowing that it will happen this time!!:thumbsup2
