I have so many magic bands. Question? Can i transfer ownership to my granddaughter and put her ticket on it. I have new band that have my ticket and room on it. Thank you

Also, nothing is "on" a Magic Band. They're just a key for accessing what's on your MDE account, so all of your Magic Bands can be used to access that information.

I have a similar question.
I bought bands at the park (off-site stay) and have my 10-day no expiration tickets on them. I plan on staying on site in August and thus have 3 bands (not sure why they are sending me a band for my 2-year old) coming to me.

1) Can I link up my no-expiration tickets to the new bands?
2) What happens to the old bands? They just trash? Backups in case you lose the new ones? (if indeed you can't just unlink the tickets and give the band to someone else (like the OP is asking).

A. As was stated above, there is NOTHING that is ON the MagicBands.
Whatever valid tickets that you now have are linked to your MyDIsneyExperience account.
The MagicBand just connects to that info at the park gates, etc.

B. Standard procedure.

C. They send the bands to under 2 year-olds so that they won't be upset that everyone else has a band and they don/t.

1) Yes.
2) You can CONTINUE to USE them at WDW in addition to any new bands.
Or, you can get rid of them, if you like.

Thank you for the answers (to both the OP and my questions ... sorry to hijack).

Seems like a waste to send new bands every time you stay on-site. But I guess being able to give them to another person would just cause all sorts of headaches (and shady practices) by re-sellers.

Still glad I bought them separately last trip .. they are so very convenient over having to dig out a card all the time or having them around your neck. (Or spending the money on a fancy lanyard).

Some people re-purpose their MB's. One friend uses the excess MB's to bundle all those cables behind the desk or TV into one neater bundle.

And some people make a Christmas chain out of them. Either for counting down or for putting on the tree as a decoration.

If you don't customize new MBs, they supposedly won't send you new ones. They may ask at checkin if you need some though, at which point you can say no.
