As the time to our departure decreases....and our budget does not increase....I have been re thinking our dining possibilities at MGM.
The thing is....I REALLY want to do Prime Time Cafe...but it appears that it would be much more economical (four of us)..to do a counter service for our main meal and hit PTC for dessert only..(really want the PTC experience)....
Sooo.....any thoughts out there on these options??
Appreciate all feedback!!!:D

Just avoid ABC Commissary. Overpriced, small portions, not too good. I love Prime Time- they really fill you up. If you have a decent breakfast and make it a late lunch or early dinner, you might get by with two meals that day.

Enjoy!

We ate at Prime Time and were not that impressed. The food was decent and the "experience" was just okay. This is really hit or miss IMHO. I would go to Rosies or Catilina Eddies (they are near each other) and just go to PTC for dessert. Pizza Planet is very overpriced and the pizza was below average. MGM is our least favorite park for dining :)

PTC has a fried chicken dinner that is two big pieces of chicken - if you ask for white meat it will be two breasts. I saw two people at another table ask to split the meal, and the waitress brought each of them a plate with one piece of chicken plus the mashed potatoes and gravy and vegies. It looked like each person got as much of the side dishes as I did, and I wasn't splitting a meal.

There were a couple of other meals on the menu that were big enough to share, especially since they are so generous with the side dishes. If you split meals, that will bring the price way down and you might be able to afford to eat the whole meal there.

I'm never impressed with the fast food options at MGM. We usually eat a full service meal there, or eat elsewhere.

I'd go for the PTC, especially since you've never eaten there.

As for the $$$ issue: skip dessert, and order one of their yummy milkshakes as your drink instead.:)

We're splitting meals at PTC and Sci-Fi, making them a decent value. It's much less than our character dining, and a little more than counter service.

If you REALLY want to do something I say do it. You will say "why didn't I.." and in reality how much more would it be in the scheme of things?

I agree, the best Chocolate Malt I have ever had was at 50's PTC!

Splurge, you only live once! That is my motto!
