The people who jump on people should begin to get warned. It is DISCUSTING how much nastyness they spew that is covered in words like "magical", "bless", and all the rest. I am sick of every post being critized to such a degree that one time I actually almost cried. The people NEED to start getting repremanded for their lack of tolerence.

Ok, you made me curious, so I looked up the thread in question.

I'm not all the way through it, but one thing I noticed is when he called a bunch of posters nutso. That's not a great way to endear yourself and does not scream "nice person" to me. Unfortunately he chose a very hot button topic and presented it in an incredibly judgmental way. This topic in particular causes problems because many people on here have hidden disabilities and have had to deal with very rude guests who accuse them of faking to get in quicker. Then they come here and see these types of threads, can you imagine how they feel?

It will take awhile, but I'm sure he'll start to learn what the "hot" issues are and how to word things so that they don't get taken the wrong way.

Some people here are just way too sensitive as well..if someone disagrees with them, God forbid.

I personally think they should have an 18+ board here. Many other forums I frequent have this. You still get your ultra-PC types there too, but you have a little more freedom to express opinions without the "internet nannies" making a stink over every post.

It's not kids who are "sensitive" it's everyone!!! I said the word "obese" and I get attacked!!! Apperently, on here, the way of saying "obese" is "Pooh sized" which is the typical DIS glitter.

I said TODAY "I hate snowbirds", I then explained my reasoning, my experiences with them, and why I have gotten those feelings for them. Apparently it's wrong to hate them, a SIN in fact!!! I got 7 posts telling me to move, I'm nasty, I should feel lucky, and everything else. I don't get it. Sadly, knowing this board, I was reported 10 times by now.

I love this site, I enjoy posting with those who can handle a conversation. I enjoy reading up about tips, reading reviews, and everything, but I hate how a small percentage of the board runs wild taking offense to everything, running around with the warn stick. If they take offense to everything, they should not be able to post.

I made a topic on that before. I was called "immature", "rude", "nasty", "pot stirrer (sp)", a woman, a child, "judgmental", "small minded", and the list goes on. The way that so many people attack one member is WRONG!!! no matter what button the pushed. Everyone in that thread should have gotten the exact same punishment that he got. I an sick of the hypocritical members here, and I'm glade ther's finally a thread about it.

I demand a rule change saying that ganging up of one member will not be tolerated. and that people need to have tolerance.

I actually have an amazing idea that would solve the problems on both sides!!! We create a debate forum where people can choose not to participate in. In a debate forum everyone needs to act like adults. We could put all the hot button issues in there and be done with it.

Not everyone finds EVERYTHING offensive. Why accommodate the people who an not act like adults in a serious discussion? I stick to the basic guidelines when I post, I just dont throw sparkles all over my posts.

I am not all the way through the thread and so have not seen the ganging up you are alluding to but I'm sure it's there as the thread is closed.

You are right, people should be able to maturely disagree (and I don't think a bunch of people maturely disagreeing= ganging up). I've never understood the need to namecall in order to further your argument. That being said, calling a group of posters nutso is not exactly innocent behavior.

I'm sorry that happened to you, but hopefully as people learn more about it they will see why it is such a hot button issue. It's always good advice on a new forum to sort of observe and see what the issues are that tend to deteriotate before posting. Unfortunately, a poster with low post counts who immediately starts going after the controversial topics is often a troll, which makes it hard to distinguish between trolls and genuine posters.

As for the debate board, they used to have one but apparently it was an absolute nightmare to moderate so their decision was to get rid of it. Having been a moderator on another site I cant say that I blame them.

1 vs. 8 is not fair, it's wrong. I can not keep up with all of you, I can not make nice either because everytime I start SOMEONE brings it all back up again. And honestly I read your post and you shouldn't have even posted. You got offended when it wasn't even about you!!! The thread turned into a "bash ~kik-kik~~ thread, and these bashing threads are all to common.

I was unaware that they had a debate forum in the past. I would have figure that people would have attempted to be mature, but I guess that's not possible.

I just think that it's wrong to allow 1 vs 8 battles. Either the mods should jump in or something. This is the 3rd time that it's happened to me. Honest to God, I did not expect them to jump on me for my extreme distaste for snowbirds.

And someone coming to the defense of manic wrestler after inflammatory statements were made that stirred up a controversy?

If you love the parks and the boards... try answering some of the folks that have questions about trip planning instead of posting how much people in wheel chairs need to be stopped.

I never travel out of the theme park boards, I got into one political debate, added 4 people to my ignore list and never went back, lol!

What about a private board? One where people would need want to get in, but easily could be removed if they proved they they couldn't handle it.

I don't like being attacked. I think it's wrong. I especially don't like being banned for defending myself against 8 people.

I don't think it'd matter in this case, seeing as how in another thread kik called an obese woman in a wheelchair getting on the bus a "selfish lazy woman."

Honestly people, it's not worth arguing with kik because I truly don't think he realizes what he's saying.

kik, you didn't get flamed for using the word obese...it's all the other stuff you said. You also posted on the same day that you "weren't even 20" and then in another thread that you were "23." (this was back in January.)

If he isn't even sure of his own age, I really don't think he has the ability to see how his posts are offensive. Give him a break!
