We're staying at the YC again on our upcoming trip and we never have that much of a problem getting back to the hotel from any of the parks, but I dread having to get back from DTD. It always takes over an hour due to having to stop at both DTD and DTD West Side, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin, and then the YC and BC.... we generally only go to DTD one afternoon but this time we're only there for 4.5 days :( and I don't want to waste over an hour riding the bus back with 2 tired little girls :rotfl: Are there taxi cabs readily available right there or do you have to call? Also-how do you know which ones are the legit ones so you're not charged $50 for the quick ride back to the hotel? TIA!

Generally there are taxis lined up at night, tho to be honest I don't get out there enough during the daytime to notice.

There are taxis at DTD regularly during the day and night. They are the yellow Mears Transportation cabs called Checker Cabs. They sit on stands across the street from all the major exits out of DTD. If no Mears Cab is on the stand than a gypsy will usually sit there until he is chased by Disney. Get a cab with a meter. Do not ride without the meter going, like asking for a flat rate. At night time the is a fleet of checkers usually across from Pleasure Island waiting for you.
