The Timeshare Store has a listing for BCV re-sale. It seems as if re-sale opportuinities at 70 to 74 per point at the same time that DVC is selling at 84 per point would inspire DVC to buy those points back instead of competing with them. Don't you think?

Oops - I also posted this on the rent/trade board by mistake.
I'm just wondering why DVC doesn't buy back points at BCV when they are offered at Timeshare for 70 to 74 per point. There is one current listing at 70. Wouldn't you think DVC wouldn't want that competition when they are still selling their BCV points at 84?

DVC may exercise their right to buy back the points--they don't even find out points are for sale until they are sold, and that's when they exercise their right of first refusal. So after you sell your pts, the offer goes to DVC, for whatever price you agreed to sell for to a private party, and at that time they can snatch the pts up, so you never know. There are other things to consider, too, such as how many pts are currently available. For example, we had a BWV that went thru below $60 a pt, but no pts are available for another 18 months. Ordinarily, DVC would have taken that one, but they would have had to hold the contract for 18 months before they started giving out the pts, apparently too long a time for them to hold on to it, so we got it. It's not a good deal for most, but it happened to work into our plans.:)

In addition to what Cruella posted, closing costs add to the "per point" cost listed.

IMHO, there just aren't enough BCV contracts available for resale right now for Disney to be too worried about the resale prices. I also agree with Cruella that most of those BCV contracts probably do not have many (if any) current year use points available and many probably also have borrowed from a subsequent use year. If so, prices in the $70 -$74 range are still too high for me! JMHO. YMMV.

I am curious though, I wanted to do an add-on that way. I assume since you can't sell direct to DVC but they have first right of refusal, that most of the deals you see posted are completed with DVC not the person trying to buy it.

Anyone have any first hand experience?
